Vodka neat, prefferably Stolychnia, or a Bacardi and coke.
Non-alcoholic drinks, either Pepsi Cola, or good old water.

I've worked as a bartender and a barista, so I've got some pretty wide experience with drinks. One item I try to keep on hand as a staple is apple juice. Its sweet, neutral flavor works with just about any liqueur or spirit, and carries the flavor of your primary ingredient. Some drinkers don't want soda, and it substitutes nicely as a base for drinks. It works with both hot and cold drinks.
Other adaptive bases for drinks include coffee and hot chocolate in the winter. I'm doing a lot with tea these days; black tea, green, white and herbal. My favorite is a spice tea, served hot with dark rum, garnished with a wheel of orange.
