It is hard to describe the Holy Spirit, as he is a personage without a body, sort of like a ghost. I used to tell my kids that he's that little voice in your head that tells you when you are doing something wrong. Sometimes he prompts you to do something. He can be your conscience.
I've had people tell me that they felt prompted to go visit someone, or to call someone, when they weren't even thinking about that person. Sometimes they were prompted to buy something, but had no idea why.
My youngest child had gone for a walk with a friend, and got lost. She looked around, and couldn't figure out which way was the way back home. Then, she felt prompted to take a certain path, but had no idea where that path led. She found her way home. She said that the Holy Ghost prompted her to take that path.
The Holy Spirit doesn't prompt people to be religious. It is being religious that helps you to receive the Holy Spirit.

Why do you think the "Holy Spirit" is some little dinky thing to be meddled with.
We are clearly told in scripture that God does not have a body...HE IS SPIRIT. The Holy Spirit is God! GOT THAT?????
The Trinity is a pagan myth that christians choose to believe. Look out for those Catholics...the reformation was a joke. Remember that verse that says Satan deceives the whole world? Well, he has the church by the short hairs. OUCH!!!!!
Read your bibles people. Saying "the Spirit" is just another way of referring to our Father. Jesus was a man. The last "Adam", which means "the last HUMAN".
This mamby-pamby "God became a man" nonsense violates everything in scripture. God is not a man. God cannot die. God knows everything, and if Jesus were God He would have had an answer when asked about the date of His return. Jesus did not know when He would be returning. Get it straight people. Your pastors are leading you down a very wide and dangerous pathway. Satan comes as a messenger of light, and he loves his place in the denominational churches. YIKES...did I actually say that? You better bet I did.
The Holy Spirit is God...Yahweh. There is only one God, and He doesn't have 3 faces.

Texas Jew is right! The "scriptures" tell all, so, "follow" them like good peasants. Don't dare question it! God may have given you the option to "question things" (I.E. LEARN) but if you EVER, I mean EVER question him, you better believe you'll pay!
Holy Spirit may go by other names. If one believes in evolution, they will most likely believe everything evolves. Most agree that all things change. Except Christians, because, while they believe all things may change, evolution (i.e. our bodies) cannot. So really, only a few things can change. Mainly, what Christians want to have change.
Our bodies, like a plant, are grown from the earth. When we die, we decompose back into the earth. The earth is part of the solar system, much like the sun and other planets. The sun, planets, and the solar system are part of the galaxy. The galaxy is part of the universe, as a whole.
If one would even strive to think of the "big bang" theory or similar, one may perceive we all derived from an infinitely small speck containing all. We are all connected. All our actions cause reactions. Everything is interdependent on everything else. The "holy spirit" can be used to describe that feeling of being one with everything.
Of course, outside of that speck is what? Well, enter the paradox of infinity. Infinite life cycle, infinite expansion, infinitely large, infinitely small, infinitely infinite. A circle is the best description. Left becomes right, up becomes down, and in between ALL of that, you have perfect balance. Confused? hard to sum up philosophy

The Holy Spirit is the third part of the triune (Father, Son, Holy Spirit)and it imparts the gifts of God unto believers; prophecy, tongues, the 'fruit' as explained in Galatians 5:22. It also acts to fill us with God's anointing, joy, revelation, etc. When people say the HS came down on them or they caught the Holy Ghost, it means that the spirit of God came over them. The HS is also a messenger of God's Will. The HS will reveal things to us in the spirit when we are seeking God for answers. Having a 'conscious' is a human limitation and no,the Holy SPirit is not bound by that sort of definition. Even as it is possible to grieve the Holy SPirit...the understanding of his being is not bound by human emotion.

The holy spirit is a person. He does not have a physical body yet, that is why he can dwell within you, or that you can feel his presence. A persons spirit looks like your physical body, only better. A persons spirit has intelligence and a conscience. God, Jesus and the Holy spirit are three separate persons. Christ has a body and a spirit. When he died he commended his spirit into Gods hands. When he was resurrected his spirit came back to his body.

Yes He does, He has feelings, thoughts and often interferes with personal thought of the Christian in a pleasant way , sometimes showing him the future or giving specific information.
It's not like the Christian hear voice inside he's head, is just thoughts and information that is embedded in he's own, often difficult to identify he's own from He's. It's not uncomfortable at all. In fact is very pleasant.
Can't give you scientific details on how this is done. So can't explain you to understand like you understand physics.
I realize that the idea of someone else living inside you may sound scary but think of it as to some kind of upgrade.

There is no holy spirit. Here's how the story goes:
God and the Holy Spirit live together - kind of like Bert and Ernie, Batman and Robin, etc with similar rumors, except in this case they are true - God and the Holy Spirit are "life partners." So anyway, one day the Holy Spirit is kind of pissed off at God (nobody knows why) and he goes out and has an affair with a woman who just got married and made the dubious claim of being a virgin (note at the time and place a woman could be executed for not being one when she got married. Since the affair was with the Holy Spirit nobody complained - I mean how would you stone to death the Holy Spirit?) Anyway she had a son named Jesus, who ended up being claimed as God's son (the Holy Spirit made less money and didn't want to pay child support.) Anyway, one day God decides not to condemn every single human being to hell, and in order to keep that from happening he tortures his adopted son Jesus to death but then brings him back to life through a magic spell (It is believed God was either drunk, high or both when he came up with this particular logic - he should certainly have been able to not condemn anyone or save who he wanted without harming or temporarily killing Jesus - maybe he was transfering his anger at the Holy Spirit for the earlier affair to Jesus.) God and the Holy Spirit had a next door neighbor named Satan who they were always fighting with. They did not like the loud wild parties Satan had. Basically Satan was a fun guy and God & The Holy spirit were boring.
If you think this sounds like a bad episode of Jerry Springer, you're going to hell. Have fun!

Spiritual energy is not subject to the laws of 3 dimensional physics. Basically, it is positive energy in action. This cannot be understood from a purely scientific standpoint. The 90% of our brain (that we supposedly do not use) is set up to utilize this. In fact we are all utilizing it right now to maintain the matrix of "reality" we experience.
