I had a plastic container of sauerkraut and one of garlicky bean salad. They still stink after I washed them and soaked them overnight in dawn and hot h2o. Any suggestions besides throwing them away?

Let it soak in bleach and water.

White vinegar - just wipe the inside clean and let sit for 10 minutes and then rinse - the vinegar smell will be strong but dissipate in about 1 hr. Good Luck!

Soak them in lemon water or a bit of bleach and water then wash them thoroughly with dishsoap. If the smell persistes repeat leaving the bleach or lemon in the dish longer. I usually leave it overnight.

I always fill the sink with dish soap and a little bit of dishwasher bleach that always does it!

You can always try vinegar. That usually takes care of it for me.
