After much debate with my 14 year old son about having to wear a cup when he plays baseball I have given up. He completely refuses to wear the cup. So right as we were leaving to go to his practice I pretended to accidenally smack his "area" but I actuallly hit him. I felt sooo bad because I was just trying to scare him. Now what do I do.?

Sometimes it takes getting hit once with a very fast ball before they realize they should have listened to you. Personally, I wouldn't have done that though. Maybe talk to his coach and he can put more sense into him.

Ask if he was glad he didn't get hit there during a game and embarrass the heck out of himself in front of everyone else. I'm sure that you said that you are sorry, but he should know that you ultimately proved a point that he needed to grasp! A cup, as silly as it may seem to start, is an essential part of his uniform and he really doesn't want to seriously injure himself - he might want children some day, also he really doesn't want to have a problem peeing I'd imagine, which a hard hit could cause.
I'm sure you already know some of the consequences of being injured there.
Point them all out to him, you could also have his doctor show him something about what could happen with a "good" blow to his privates. He'd probably cringe!

I'm sure you already apologized so there isn't;t anything else you CAN do unless he was seriously hurt. He may be willing to wear his cup now though.

well im sure you've already said sorry, so there isn't much more you can do.. if he complains about pain offer to take him to a doctor, other then that... time heals all wounds? heh.. hopefully he's agreed to use the cup :)

if he starts turning blue you should probably get him to a doctor but if not i think he has learned his lesson!
