It happens om little kids. The only thing you can really do is be consistant. When he starts to stutter tell him "Slow down , take your time." Just let him take his time and dont rush him. If he feels comfortable. Good Luck!! :-)

Don't interrupt him and make sure you are giving him your full attention when you're speaking with him. Take him to a speech therapist now, seeing as his mom has the problem, too.
