If it says unknown caller and I don't know the area code that's what I have voice mail for. The can leave a message or not. It's their choice!

I usually just answer. I can always hang up easily without saying a word other than hello.
I don't believe in paying for all that extra crap that costs the phone company next to nothing.
Caller ID? Forget it.
Call Waiting? It's about as rude as you can get. You might as well say this to your caller "Oh, can you hang on? Your call isn't very important and I've got another one coming in from someone more important."

I answer it only because my family lives in another country, and always shows up unknown. I get burned alot, sometimes its salesmen, or the dreaded recorded voice telling you to stay on the line................ The list goes on and on.

Give them crap !! Tell them you want to meet them somewhere and act really creepy. They might just leave you alone. Convince that person it's really not in their benefit to call you. I guess there are better ways than being creepy, but hey, be creative.

I rarely answer unknown number calls - they're usually pranks or someone trying to sell something anyway!

i figure it's my boyfriend's brother or mother. they like to keep their number a secret. i just hang up. then they call back again. i find it funnier than they do.

No, I don't pick it up. I let my voicemail pick it up :-) If it is really important & I know them, they have my cell number :-)
