Try a cylinder leakdown test. Compressed air @ ~100 psi is let into the cylinder at TDC firing. This will tell you where the leak is. Chances are it is a valve issue considering that the compression only increased by a minimal amount after a test w/oil. If the air ecapes to the cooling system, its a head gasket/cracked head. If it escapes to the exhaust its an exhaust valve, air rushing out the intake is an inake vlave. If air were to blow out of the engine at the oil filler cap or the dipstick this indicates a ring issue.

I don't think oil would increase compression with a bad valve. I would suspect a head gasket. Look a little closer.
