Banana G,

This really isn't about you selling -- its about them buying. People love to buy, nobody likes to be sold.

So smile, welcome them to your store and ask questions that tell you what they want to buy. Examples: tell me about your phone usage, what would you like to see improved with your existing service, what features do you like most on your phone?

Once they tell you, hand them exactly that and show them how it exceeds their expectations. Ask is this what YOU had in mind? Do YOU think you need more minutes? Do you want the unlimited text plan?

You get the idea. Its not about you convincing the customer to buy, it is you putting their wants and your products together. To do this you must ask questions and Listen!

Good luck in your career

Just relax and ask questions. The customer will probably have some idea what they want. So many people have phones these days, that many of the people in the store will be upgrading or seeking help with an existing phone. Some of the questions are: have you ever had a phone before? What kind? What features did you use? What volume of calls do you think that you will make? Do you make a lot of long distance calls? etc/.
