Truly, from both experience and several reviews of microsoft's disk defragmenting software... it sucks.
Try contig, which ironically is managed by microsoft now. Here's the link to power defragmenter, which is just a gui for contig.

Go to System Tools and use the Defrag option in your Operating System and the Disc Cleanup option.
I sence there may be an issue here that we are not getting. What would be the reason you feel it imparitive to find one that is the best and fastest.
If your computer is sluggish just defragging won't solve your issue.

seeing as they all work the same as Disk Defragment but with different graphics then I would suggest staying with Microsoft's
