My niece is my Matron of Honor. I would like to have my best friend as my Maid of Honor also. Is there a rule against this? They are both my best friends and have been there for me through everything. Why should I have to chose one over the other?

Your gig, your rules. There is not written law about having a wedding a certain way. Go for it! It would be lovely I'm sure.

Good luck

She is a MATRON of honor, and if she wanted to be a maid, then she could have theory approximately getting married first LoL. I hate to sound recommend or brash, yet once you desire to placed on the classes that she's the matron, do it. this is acceptable. If she had a newborn could she have a undertaking being called a mom? She's married, that makes her a matron. I even have my sister who's my maid of honor, and my pal who's married, who's my matron of honor. they don't have a undertaking with it... I constantly theory matron sounded fascinating and powerful...

Technically speaking, you can only have one. A matron of honor and a maid of honor is the same thing. A matron of honor is a woman that is married and a maid of honor is not married so which one you have depends on the marital status of the woman standing up for you.

Sure go for it!

Heck you can have two maids of honor or three matrons of honor.

I've been to many weddings that had both. The Matron of Honor walks down the aisle last and stands beside you.

You generally do have both. Every wedding I've been to had both and the grooms have a best man and the male version of matron of honor, I cant think of the name right now

i disagree with having a maid of honor and a matron of honor. The job for either one is to sign your marriage certificate. You have to pick only one. The difference in the name is because the maid of honor is single and the matron is married. You need to pick one.

It's your wedding, do whatever you want. Why not have both of them stand at the alter with you? They should split the "duties" of matron/maid of honor. There's nothing wrong with it.

I've seen it done before:) You do realize that Matron means married though right? If your niece is married and the bf isn't then it's perfect.
