first off, don't commit suicide, and no, you wont go to hell if you are saved by believing jesus christ as your savior, sin is washed away from your record, you are redeemed, it's taken care of. but thats not what god wants you to do and you will hurt a lot of people in the process, if you are having problems in your life that you just can't cope with, then seek help. tell someone that your close to, so they can be there for you, and look for a good counselor. and pray, give your worries to god, through him all things are made right.

The Bible is not explicit on this, but Christians have accepted that suicide is a grave sin since the earliest days of the church. This is still accepted almost universally among Christian denominations, Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant. They believe it is a sin against God because you are rejecting God's will and rebelling against him. They profess that it is God who should decide when people are born and when they should die.

If you are suicidal, please find help. Whether it's a friend or a counselor or a help line... Many people go through very difficult times, but suicide is not the answer. Five or ten years from now, you may have more happiness than you could ever have imagined. Don't throw away the many happy times you'll have in the future because of difficult times today.

Those who're adamant that a man or woman who takes his existence is committing a mortal sin, and can pass to hell, are basing their notion on church doctrine alternatively than at the Bible. Scripture is silent at the field. There are not any verses that say "He who takes his possess existence might be damned." According to Scripture, just one sin does now not have forgiveness, and that's blasphemy of the Holy Spirit (see Mark three:29 footnote). That manner there's forgiveness for each different sin. Some quote a million Corinthians three:17, which says that God will damage any individual who "defiles" the temple of the Holy Spirit. Yet, there's war of words approximately what it manner to defile the temple. Does this comprise suicide? Does it comprise illicit drug abuse (sluggish suicide), prescription drug abuse, cigarettes (intentionally inhaling poisons with the intention to finally kill), tattoos, over-consuming (digging a grave along with your spoon), or alcohol abuse? God forbid that we upload to the affliction of any individual who has misplaced a adored one by way of the tragedy of suicide, via creating a judgment approximately their everlasting fate. God is the excellent Judge, and we must as a consequence depart the hassle in His fingers. It might be smart to comply with the biblical illustration and now not come to any verdict when it comes to suicide.

I bet it depends on if you're "saved" or not when you do it. If a true Christian had a really really bad day and did it, they'd probably go to heaven, because God says that any sins can be forgiven since Jesus paid for all sins we'd ever do (past and future). However, if you're not saved, then you'd go to hell, same as anyone who dies normally.

But God really doesn't want anyone to commit suicide, since he made us to live here and love him and love others. You're here for a purpose, even if you can't see it now.

If thinking that you will go to hell if you commit suicide keeps you from committing suicide, then sure, feel free to assume it is true.

Judas committed suicide and he went to heaven. (read Matthew 19:28 if you don't believe me...Jesus promises Judas a seat in heaven.) As a result, I wouldn't say its a hard and fast rule, biblically speaking.

In all honestly, I hope this is a purely academic question.

The only mention that I know of suicide in the Bible is that of Judas--after he betrayed Christ, he hung himself, then he fell and his belly split open.

I don't know whether you would go to hell or not, it depends on whether you are saved or not. I do not believe that suicide is the unpardonable sin, and I know that many people have sins on their consciences when they die. I don't think that God considers any one sin worse than any other.

Everyone goes to "hell" upon death. It even says Jesus soul went to hell upon his death.

The Bible is silent about suicide. But some churches claim it is a one-way ticket to the hell of torture.

Your fate is more tied to whether you accept and believe the gospel. If you understood it, and believed it, you would have no desire to kill yourself. You would be freed from the despondency associated with suicide.

Only according to the abrahmic religions.

Killing is a sin.
to die without repenting of your sins = a permanant trip to hell.
you cannot repent before committing a sin.

Therefore, if you kill yourself, you'll go to hell.

If you are Catholic and you kill yourself, I think they can posthumusly excommunicate you, to boot.

No, if this question was more than idle curiosity, pick up the phone, call 1-800-SUICIDE and get some help.
