Motrin or Advil for the inflammation of your tissue right now. You can either try not to touch your teeth together, or try to clench them together, causing the teeth to separate faster. Some patients say one works better than the other. I think it's just a matter of getting the teeth to shift faster to ease the pain. So go ahead and clench or chew (which will hurt initially but will stop soon) to stop the pain and get them moving faster. Also drink ice cold things for a few days it will help to numb your tissue a little.

Sounds really strange, but it works for my 12 yr. old daughter.
Get liquid filled baby teething rings that go in the freezer - freeze them and chew on them on your painful spots.
Don't feel silly, anything to get rid of pain is worth it right?
The pressure and the cold combined should give you a great deal of relief.
Plus some Tylenol OR Ibuprofen could give some relief also if you can take one of them. If you're under 18 (never know) you should ask a parent if they could give you some.
Good luck I hope you feel better soon!
