Um well, it depends on the pill, some are actually nothing but sugar, or caffeine or an amphetimine type of pill. A lot of these "diet pills" are not regulated by the FDA or anything so they can pretty much have anything in them. A few things to look out for are.....
Jitters, Loss of appetite, decreased sexual function, dizziness, trouble sleeping, metabolic dysfunction, depression, increased anxiety, loss of focus, dryness of the mouth, problems with urination, dimentia, death..............

OR you may be getting something that is basically a placebo
in which case it may cause a shrinking of your wallet.

Dieting is simple you want to eat healthy foods and stay in a caloric deficit (about 500 calories below you maintaince level)

Disadvantages are cost. side effects. and the fact that they just dont work. diet and exercise is the way to go.

diet pills almost never work. they are considered to be health fraud and quackery (thats actually what real companies call it)
