I wouldn't say it's the best, but I've heard that dark beer does have health benefits. The international list that was provided did not provide information for Warsteiner, which is my favorite beer. I did find it interesting that Guinness bottle only has about 16 calories than some of the domestic light beers. (I don't do light beer and I don't normally do canned. I do bottle or draft and I don't care for most domestics.) However, even before my pregnancy, a beer was not a daily, or even a weekly thing. Though when I did drink, I didn't stop at one.
As for your other two questions, I'm really not sure. Prior to my pregnancy, I worked out daily. About once every other week my husband and I, sometimes with friends, would go to our favorite bar and grill which features at least 130 international beers. Who cares about calories when there are new beers to discover? Yet, I maintained my weight, and was actually underweight.
Also, what are you eating the rest of the day? If you're living on junk "food", then it would definately have the adverse effects you want.

Beer has from about 95 calories (Michelob Ultra, Miller Lite) to 160 calories (Corona). The average is in the 120-140 range. More importantly, the higher alcohol beers have more carbs. Carbs are nothing more than instant energy and easily absorbed by the body.
If you exercise more than what you drink, then you certainly could have good abs. To burn off the calories of the average beer takes a cardio workout of about 20 minutes (with a heart rate over 130 the entire time).
So if you have two beers each night, expect to do a daily cardio of 40 minutes or so with a good sweat.
For the flat abs, unless you do some exercise for the mid section, your abs are just going to be normal abs.

It varies widely and depends on what beer you drink. A darker beer will obviously have more. But a light beer like Miller Lite only has 95 calories per 12 oz. So, it's really not that bad to have one to wind down after work.
