This is kind of a peculiar situation: I'm a Junior in high school and there's a girl that likes me who is a sophomore. I found out she liked me when my friend (also her friend's brother) told me. I didn't know who she was, but I sort of developed an attraction to her. Anyway, it's a year later and I've never talked to her before, but judging my the glances she's been sneaking toward me lately, I'm inclined to think she still likes me. What should I do to break the ice and actually approach her?

I like the idea of just saying hi to her, but I wonder if she will be weirded out by the spontaneity of me just saying, "Hi" to her when I've never even talked to her before. And for all she knows, I don't even know she likes me. Thoughts?

well it wouldn't take much. If this girls still seems to have a liking towards you and you do something as simple as going up to her and just asking her how her weekend was, she is going to be sooo happy. Girls get really excited over stuff like that when they have had a crush on a boy for so long.

I was in the exact same situation and I hesitated for to long and lost my chance. It sounds as if she still has a thing for you so don't miss your opportunity.
The best way to approach this situation is first by becoming just a casual friend, say "hi" if you see her in the hall at school, for example. That'll give you time to feel more comfortable towards her while at the same time, you can start to feel out what she thinks about you.
Eventually, you should be able to work your way up to small talk, and maybe even a nice conversation. After that, you'll have it in the bag! Just don't be afraid to take chances, and seize any opportunity that presents itself.
