How To Forgive...(WOW)

One day a while back, a man, his heart heavy with grief, was
walking in the woods. As he thought about his life this day, he
knew many things were not right. He thought about those who had
lied about him back when he had a job.

His thoughts turned to those who had stolen his things and cheated
him.

He remembered family that had passed on. His mind turned to the
illness he had that no one could cure. His very soul was filled
with anger, resentment and frustration.

Standing there this day, searching for answers he could not find,
knowing all else had failed him, he knelt at the base of an old oak
tree to seek the one he knew would always be there. And with tears
in his eyes, he prayed:

"Lord- You have done wonderful things for me in this life. You have
told me to do many things for you, and I happily obeyed. Today, you
have told me to forgive. I am sad, Lord, because I cannot. I don't
know how.
It is not fair Lord. I didn't deserve these wrongs that were done
against me and I shouldn't have to forgive. As perfect as your way
is Lord, this one thing I cannot do, for I don't know how to
forgive. My anger is so deep Lord, I fear I may not hear you, but I
pray that you teach me to do this one thing I cannot do - Teach me
To Forgive."

As he knelt there in the quiet shade of that old oak tree, he felt
something fall onto his shoulder. He opened his eyes. Out of the
corner of one eye, he saw something red on his shirt.
He could not turn to see what it was because where the oak tree had
been was a large square piece of wood in the ground. He raised his
head and saw two feet held to the wood with a large spike through
them.

He raised his head more, and tears came to his eyes as he saw Jesus
hanging on a cross. He saw spikes in His hands, a gash in His side,
a torn and battered body, deep thorns sunk into His head. Finally
he saw the suffering and pain on His precious face. As their eyes
met, the man's tears turned to sobbing, and Jesus began to speak.

"Have you ever told a lie?" He asked?

The man answered - "yes, Lord."

"Have you ever been given too much change and kept it?"

The man answered - " yes. Lord." And the man sobbed more and more.

"Have you ever taken something from work that wasn't yours?" Jesus
asked?
And the man answered - "yes, Lord."

"Have you ever sworn, using my Father's name in vain? "

The man, crying now, answered - "yes, Lord."

As Jesus asked many more times, "Have you ever"? The man's crying
became uncontrollable, for he could only answer - "yes, Lord."

Then Jesus turned His head from one side to the other, and the man
felt something fall on his other shoulder. He looked and saw that
it was the blood of Jesus. When he looked back up, his eyes met
those of Jesus, and there was a look of love the man had never seen
or known before.

Jesus said, "I didn't deserve this either, but I forgive you."

It may be hard to see how you're going to get through something,
but when you look back in life, you realize how true this statement
is.

Read the following first line slowly and let it sink in.

If God brings you to it - He will bring you through it.

Lord I love You and I need You, come into my heart, today. For
without You I can do nothing.

When Jesus died on the cross, he was thinking of you! If you are

one of the 7% who will stand up for him, forward this with the
Title 7.%

93% of people won't forward this.

It would not be possible to forward this to 7%, as the total sum of the contacts is a number unknown. However, I will keep it in my heart as true and faithful, and even keep it in my soul.

It is a beautifully written epistle, and there is much truth in this letter. It is true that the time has indeed come when the Lord cannot forgive a good portion of humanity, as it has been written. He condemns with a heavy heart, but this is necessary as he cannot lie.

I believe his heart was heavy with grief as he walked in the woods, and wondered how this world would accept him. There came a point where he reached equilibriam in this issue, and then cared not what others thought, for he had a sacred duty to perform. They say the subject is lonely in his quest. The Red on his shirt which held him down cannot be cleansed.

I've seen much worse. I got forwarded an email that had a traffic cam of a pedestrian getting killed when a car got t-boned at an intersection. Apparently the "point" was that life is fragile. There was a link to a website asking you to turn your life over to jesus. I'm telling you, it's just a matter of time until there are Snuff Films For Jesus playing at a theater near you. And I'm sure Mel Gibson would direct, given the chance.

Hey, if Jesus actually appeared to me and dripped blood on my shirt, I'd become a Christian. Don't forget that most of the apostles needed to actually see and touch the resurrected Jesus in order to believe, and before that (even after having been told about the resurrection) they did not believe. So, I'm not about to believe just because some email or book tells me to. And it's unreasonable for any supernatural being to expect me to.

Because it affected them and they wanted to spread the misery around, I guess.

But in the Bible, it says to spread the GOOD news, not the gruesome, depressing, bloody news.

I'm not sure how this message would be in line with the exhortation to spread good news...but then, there are a lot of things about Christianity I don't really understand.

Based on my Christian-esque background, though, Jesus doesn't seem like the kind of leader who would advocate forwards like this.

I'm sorry. Are you asking why someone would send this, or why they would send it to you?

It could be someone who cares about you and wants you to remember why you used to believe but have stopped. It's not written very well, nor is it all that original, but chain letters are either sent randomly or to people whom the sender knows. This person may know that you're an atheist who used to believe and just doesn't know how to tell you that he (or she) wishes you would believe again.

Oh, it wasn't me, by the way.

My father sends me emails like this ALL THE TIME! I don't so much mind reading the less lengthy ones as long as they don't have that mind screw at the end: "Forward this to all your friends if you agree and delete it if you want to go to hell". Well, maybe not to that extent but it sure feels like that sometimes.

I love my dad but I absolutely loath chain mails...so needless to say I delete and struggle with a mild case of guilt for all of 4 seconds.

I love my friends dearly, but I don't put up with forwards like this. Automatic delete...especially if it's of a religious nature.

I'm a big fan of the pictures taken of drunk people that have passed out and have been given "makeovers". THAT I will look at.

I like the predictive statistics at the bottom.

But bettierage, if it makes up for it, I recently received a letter from a deposed African statesman who needs a bank account number as a conduit for a large amount of money. He's willing to deposit a sum of $10,000 to anyone who can help him in this.

That's not a lousy 7%, but a whopping 10% of the $100,000 he needs to escrow. Perhaps you could help him out and then tithe out of that?

Maybe they think you did something that will send you to hell if you don't confess???

I am no Jesus expert, but that is my guess.

Plus they wanted you to inundate all of your innocent and unsuspecting friends by passing it on with it as well. And springing it on people here on Answers who are doing nothing worse than trying to pass the time.

You seem like a well meaning person that they can use to their advantage to forward their agenda.

That is my guess as to why they sent it to you.

I received this in an email too. I was in the 93% and I'm Christian. I never forward anything that says "Forward Me" especially ones that try to make you feel guilty for nothing.
