Section and clip your hair up while it is dry. Take a section & twist it. Clip off the split ends that stick out using small scissors.
To prevent split ends:
1) Use a super absorbent hair towel to reduce drying time. ex) Aquis or The Body Shop
2) After shampooing & conditioning your hair, comb out tangles starting at the bottom w/ a wide tooth comb. Do not use a brush. Wet hair is the most prone to tearing & breakage.
4) Joico K-Pak shampoo & conditioner are the best for damaged hair. The conditioner can be use daily or as a deep conditioning mask.
5) Avoid using styling products w/ a lot of alcohol; stick to ones w/ alcohol lower down on the ingredients list.
6) Run a drop of jojoba oil through the ends of your hair. It will add a bit of sheen & makes a good leave in conditioner. Jojoba oil is non-comedogenic & washes out easily.

Any split end should be trimmed with totally sharp scissors. This is called a Search-and-Destroy Mission. It does not include healthy strands. Done regularly, with proper support as below, it won't need to be repeated oftener than quarterly and with repetition there won't be be a lot to "catch". In a good season, it'll be difficult to fine a dozen.
Trimming with less than totally sharp scissors will promote splits even on otherwise healthy hair. There's *no* compelling reason to trim otherwise healthy hair unless you actually want it to be shorter. Regular trimming with less than totally sharp scissors assures a self-perpetuating supply of split ends.
Eat a nutritious diet (don't over-vitamin yourself). Avoid parching your hair by over-stripping oils and cooking at high heat. Avoid direct abuse with bare rubber bands, sharp-edged clips, overly-tight pins, and catching in car doors, etc.

You need to get them cut off initially, then to prevent them coming again you will need to use a really good product from a salon. I'm not going to suggest any, because I am in New Zealand, and our product range would be different to yours.
Good luck

The only way you can get rid of them is to trim your hair, use conditioner to keep them from coming back.
