I get sound but no picture my TV screen is blue

If you are getting sound, then clearly the cable for the picture isn't plugged in. Usually, this is a yellow cable/plug (sound are black and white).
You might also look and see if you have Svideo or other cable options and try these.

it depends on your tv, you might need to change the input , but without knowing you tv model might be imposible to answer
