Okay, yet again I will explain this because clearly some people don't seem to be able to use the "search" function. People are still asking "Why are Atheists in R&S?"

--Atheists do not believe in a god/goddess, but they can be spiritual. This is Religion and Spirituality, not just a Religion section.
--Atheists discuss religion because a lot come from a religious backgrounds. Also, some just like the topic like other people enjoy discussing art, works of poetry, music and the like. Religion is just another work of humanity.
--Atheists are entitled to an opinion just like religious folk are entitled to an opinion. We're all human.
--Atheists do not believe. They just don't-- they aren't secretly denying something. How hard is that to realize? It's as difficult for an Atheist to believe in God as it is for you to believe in unicorns.

So did I miss anything? Can someone please add something else (kindly, this isn't an arguement)?

Siar-- yeah welll I'm already a bit buzzed and it's like 1pm! This is getting out of hand, seriously.

Catholic Crusader-- I already said that, hon. Atheists can be spiritual; I don't believe in God but I am spiritual. So I'm in the right spot and so are all the others.

Nice Oblivion pic, by the way. Though wouldn't honoring the Nine Divine be a bit sacriligious?

CC-- Again, you're way off. I am spirit and body, but I don't have to have God to believe in that. You make the mistake that religion and spirituality are one, which they are not. I'm Agnostic, because I don't have the answers. I'm Atheist because I don't have a god/goddess. But I am spiritual, so unless you have to make false assumptions like a child, you should probably shut the trap. Stop attacking people who have done nothing to wrong you. Are you that afraid that we're here?

CC-- Also, yes I have a spirit but who says there has to be an afterlife? I'm content knowing that I'll end up part of the earth, in both spirit and body. Honestly, your arguement is a weak one.

Malak-- I do believe in spirits, have you not ever seen me here before? I just don't believe in a God, by definition that would make me Atheist. See?

Abject rudeness is my biggest complaint about some people on R&S be they Christian, antitheist or whatever belief or lack of .
Rude disrespect is not a mature way for an adult to respond to anyone's reply to a question.
Simple manners - all that is needed to order to keep the peace here.
Some of the replies and comments I have seen here are nothing short of cruel and hateful .
I hope that all of us can show a little respect for the right of others to express an opinion with out being harassed or berated

by way of fact Christians have self belief the ten comandments are the muse of guy's morals. The bible isn't the muse of guy's morals, all of us sense guilt if we do some thing incorrect, with, or without the existence of a supernatural deity, and to assert in any different case is ignorant. in fact, in case you prefer to get into statistics, 10% of the american inhabitants is Atheist. So, it would fall to reason, that 10% of the reformatory inhabitants could be Atheist besides. The inhabitants of Atheists institutionalized is interior the element of a million%. this might propose Atheists being the extra ethical voters, maximum suitable?

The only thing I can think of is cuz I see allot of rude comments from atheist.I have personally asked serious questions and atheist came back and had some rude things to say and I wasn't even talking to them, it was a question for the Christians. Now I know they are not all like that just like I know not all Christians are very nice on here but a majority of rude comments come from the atheist. And see I learned something on here, I did not know atheist were spiritual at all, I am glad to know that, Thanks. But anyway that is my thoughts, not that I am right but that is what I have seen on here myself.

Atheists are not religious nor spiritual according to the definitions of the two words as used in common conversation. At the same time, they are a religion within themselves. I would think they would rather not be here, but they are. In my view, they are welcome as long as they can be civil. Many of the so-called Christians are not civil, either, and I wish all the rude people would think a little more about what they are doing.

Atheists should not care what christians or any other religion think about them. I thought that was the whole point. Believe in nothing, emptiness, etc. I don't care but, why insult those who choose to believe in something bigger than themselves. Atheists come to these forums to get a rise out of believers. Your being a spoiled brat who annoys others to get attention. What i mean is if you don't believe in what others are discussing why try to take away from those who do. All you have to gain is self satisfaction.

Subconsciously there is something about every man or woman. Just like a one that has never met a parent feels that they did not come from rock.

Even orphans look for answers. So they need their freedom to express their views and experience the views of those that love their father God. There is no shame in being a Christian.

God and unicorns are a bad analogy since God exists. Atheists should keep quiet if they have something mean to say. There are a lot of atheists that have the same values as God has - regarding how to treat others. However, they do not follow their own morals. If they treat us with no respect, they will get no respect. God's golden commandment. Do unto others. If we all follow God commandments, people will be at peace with each other.

Um, how can a person who believes they have no soul or spirit be spiritual? Pretty illogical. Face it, you're not here to ask legitimate questions, or to learn anything, just a plain ole everyday basher. Sure, there are plenty of mature atheists, but they don't come here, they hang out in sections they actually have interest in, not in this section just to bash. Like I said, they're "mature" atheists, meaning not childish, attention seeking or hatemongering, which doesn't really apply to many atheists in this section.

In spite of what they say, I think the Christians love having atheists come here. If there were no atheists, who would they argue with, and who would they threaten with eternal damnation? As an atheist, I would be saddened if the Christians left R&S. I wouldn't be able to make jokes at their expense. I think it's long past time that both sides admit that we thrive on our mutual antagonism.

the reason they think atheists shouldnt be here is because atheists are a threat to theology. History proves that religion, especially Christianity and Islam can not stand other forms of belief. With atheists "invading" their religious discussions it only makes them more angry, and obviously, the chosen are failing at their duty to convert the world , yet they love to post questions directed at atheists to engage in futile arguments that neither side can ever win because both are steadfast in their beliefs. Basically, both sides want to argue, and this is a great forum to do it in.
