Is there a "snopes-like" site to check up on some of these allegedly real cop videos?

Over the past weekend, a bad cop in St Louis, Missouri was like a gestapo agent when he hassled a law abiding young man who was parked in a parking lot. Fortunately, the young man had a camera in his car and caught the 20 minute scenario on video. The cop is now on unpaid suspension. We all need cameras in our cars to capture bad behavior when we are stopped by bad cops.

No "snopes-like" sites to my knowledge, however, you can consider this:

When the prosecution presents a case is court...all audio/video evidence must be complete and there must be a good "chain of custody" to insure no tampering with the evidence.

When the media presents audio or video on the internet, it can be altered in so many different ways it would make completely legitimate material look like the worst crime in history.

So....unless it comes to you directly from the "evidence vault"....don't put TOO much credibility in what is presented on line!

This is not to say that there are not videos presented that are started well after what actually started an incident that makes an officer look bad.

Sometimes you do see an incident where an officer "messes up."

We all make mistakes in every walk of life. Law enforcement is just scrutinized moreso than any other profession because of the nature of the profession.

Best wishes.

for the most part, they are real. It is not hard to find a cop doing something wrong. Video has put what has been occurring for the last 150 years on the front page. You can no longer hide - you are being watched.
