Just because you are atheist does not mean you can't be spiritual, and our belief system is a lack of religion, and this is the place to express our views. If you cant see that this isn's a "religious people only section about the ins and outs of religion", then you are very small minded, as your faith has encouraged you to be.
You have creasted a question directed at atheists, which is one of many (not all obnoxious like yours is, there are many serious questions an atheist can give input on), so in asking the question you've answered it for yourself. There are atheist related questions or questions where it is appropriate for an atheist to give input, which is why we are here. You just dislike diversity.
Maybe an atheist answering a question directed solely at religious people about how best they think their religion thinks they should act in certain circumstances etc, would be wrong, but religion and spirituality is a very broad spectrum and anyone should be allowed to give input. If you can't see that everyone giving input etc is the whole point of an online discussion community, then perhaps it is YOU who shouldn't be here.

Here we go again. This is the 1,000th time I've answered this question.
It is the TOPIC which determines what category a question is in, not the beliefs or the personality or any other factor of the questioner or the answerer. It is the TOPIC of the question.
We do not say that only people who own cats can ask and answer in the category Cats, or that only people who have handicaps can ask and answer in the "people with disabilities" category. Nor even that only lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgendered people can ask and answer in LGBT. It is the topic of the question that determines the category.
How can we make it any plainer? If an atheist is interested in a question about religion and spirituality, it does not imply that he "is looking for something." It may be he wants to offer something: offer his point of view and his information.

I would like to know the same thing. But we can't judge that, I saw one say that just because they don't believe in a higher power doesn't mean they aren't spiritual. Some are curious about religion. I believe in God and the Bible, but I love to learn about other people and what other people believe in, I am not looking for another belief, I like my own. And then there are those that just want to stir up anger. There is one questioner doing that right now making fun of black people. I will give the link below. Atheists are on here for different reasons, they are individual people to, just as Christians and Muslims (etc) are.

Their are several definitions to the term "religion", A few should hopefully be self explanatory to your question.
A cause, principle, or activity pursued with zeal or conscientious devotion
A personal or institutionalized system grounded in such belief and worship.
To answer it deeper, I would argue the reason man makes god or gods is fulfill the unanswerable ques tons we always seem to have i.e. the purpose of life, what happens after death, etc. So it would appear that "Atheists" use that logic in reverse, instead of asking the questions they live for what they can see, touch, or feel.
I hope this helps.

It is actually quite simple if you check a dictionary. One of the specific meanings of the word religious is, I quote, "Extremely scrupulous or conscientious: religious devotion to duty." Most of the Atheists I've seen posting on R&S meet that specific meaning exactly.
Few of the Christians posting meet those parameters, but fit the ones on worship and utter belief in a deity.

A few reasons...:
A.) Freedom to do it
B.) Because this forum has a "Spirituality" section tacked on, and I happen to be a spiritual Atheist, I just don't think that there is a God...
C.) Because you Christians seem to think Atheism is a religion (I've seen it said before, a LOT!)
D.) Because we have views, and opinions on religion and the texts that go with it.
E.) Why wouldn't we be here, 'cause if we ask something about religion in the science section, we'd be told to go here...
(P.S. Also...since we follow a devil that we don't believe in, and to spread his shadow amongst all the Christians...-_-)

I answer this exact same question at least once a day. The answer is , this is where the Atheist bashing goes on . Are you suggesting that you holies should be free to run non-believers into the ground without their being free to defend themselves ?
Just read some of the stupid remarks made about non-believers .

Why do religious people go into this forum to debate religion if they are so sure in their beliefs? Spirituality and religion are two different things, and there are plenty of atheists who don't believe in God but believe in some kind of spiritual or higher being. And as someone said, both spirituality and religion are important parts of society, and it is interesting to see what people have to say about them.

Thats where your religious reasoning falls on its ***. Atheists don't believe in the existence of a bi-polar, evil, schizophrenic sky fairy. Its not that we don't believe in anything, we just don't believe in "gods". Straight forward really.
If we want to come into the religious/spiritual forum then we are allowed to.
