I love yogurt and have tried to use it to replace my favorite thing in the world which is ice cream. People tell me it's good for me but I don't know how. What is so good about it?

Dr. Perks's comments are similar to what I was going to say, with the exception of the goat's milk suggestion. Conventional yogurt is also loaded with sugar. My husband used to eat it for breakfast until he noticed the sugar content.

Their might be something to the stuff in it that is supposed to help regularity, but at the same time, I just eat well and make sure my fiber content (veggies and whole grains) and I have no trouble with regularity or gut problems.

I found this article ( http://www.lifetimefitness.com/magazine/index.cfm?strWebAction=article_detail&intArticleId=717 ) to be quite interesting in terms of the probiotics and gut health.

I hope this helps.

Yogurt is good because it has active cultures of "good" bacteria in it, however, by the time it makes it your grocery store it has been treated and the good enzymes are dead.
You are better off just taking probiotics because our bodies don't really need products made from cow's milk. You could also try goat milk/yogurt/cheese. I like the soy cream (non dairy ice cream) from Trader Joes or Whole Foods and sorbet instead of ice cream.

I simply attempted water buffalo yogurt at Whole Foods. Super wealthy and thick. At a greenback fifty for one little box I opted now not to shop for despite the fact that. If you've got the dough, it is the method to pass - check out the maple!

Simply because it has LOTS of vitamins, LOTS of protien, LOTS of antioxidants, LOTS of Calcium, and good bacteria, Which is all great for your system, Ice cream is aweful for you lol, You CAN freeze your yogurt though and pretend it's ice cream.
