Karma is misunderstood in the west. It's not a cosmic Santa Claus giving presents to the good kids and punishment to the naughty ones. It translates roughly into "consequences of action." Yes, I believe there are always consequences to my actions and that I should be mindful of those consequences.

In Karma thought, dangerous karma can not be defeated by way of doing well karmas. The account for dangerous karmas are separate. And the account of well karmas are separate. The results of karma can not be mitigated. It needs to be loved or suffered. There is a Sanskrit Sloka: "Avasyam anubhogthavyam kritham karma subha asubham; naa bhugtham ksheeyathe karma kalpa koti sathairapi". Meaning; We ought to endure the consequences of our karmas, if it is well or dangerous. No karma gets erased by way of doing different deeds. Sometime we will have to think that we don't seem to be doing and that nature is bringing one of these condition to drive us to take a usual direction to adopt that motion. There is a pronouncing in Mahanarayana Upanishad: "Kamokarsheet Manyurakarsheet Namo Namah". It is an complex factor, which I don't wish to provide an explanation for right here. Those who realize can realise.

Yes, but I call it God's grace. As far as I can tell -- I'm not real up on my Buddhist terminology -- it's the same thing. If I am constantly putting out God's grace, letting it flow through me out into the world, that grace comes back to me "a hundredfold" as they say. If I go around putting out negative energy, which is the opposite of God's grace, that stuff comes back to bite me in the butt later.
It's happened, believe me.

I don't. I do believe, however, that if one goes out and hits some bloke that then his bro will get you some other night. So in that sense it does make sense. But, no, not in the Hindu sense.

I do believe in it. I know bad karma very well. I don't want to cry so I'll just leave it at that.
