TG.

You spout the same nonsense, I read the links you included and they are completly a house of cards using circular reasoning.

I like the person who said Catholics worship Mary even if they say they dont.

I go to a spirit filled Catholic Church and have never once heard a Hail Mary.

So it is so funny when protestants get misconceptions about the Catholic Faith and when they are told by Catholics that their misconceptions are not true they say that they know they are true.

they are claiming they know more about another persons faith than that person. Sounds like an idiot to me.

For whenever Christ speaks of His Church, it is always in the singular.
He says, "Hear the Church," not hear the churches. "I have built My Church upon a rock," not My churches.

Whenever He speaks, whether in figures or parables of His Church, He always conveys to the mind a oneness, a union, a unity.

He speaks of His Church as a sheepfold, in which there is but one shepherd, that is the head of all. And the sheep are made to follow his voice, "Other sheep I have who are not of this fold."

He speaks of His Church as of a kingdom, in which there is but one king to rule all. And He speaks of His Church as a family in which there is but one father at the head. He speaks of His Church as a tree, and all the branches of that tree are connected with the trunk, and the trunk with the roots, and Christ is the root. The trunk is Peter and the Popes, the large branches are the bishops, the smaller branches the priests, and the fruit upon that tree are the faithful throughout the world. The branch, says He, that is cut off from that tree shall wither away, produce no fruit, and is only fit to be cast into the fire.

There are now three hundred and fifty different Protestant churches in existence, and almost every year one or two more are added. Besides this number, there is the Catholic Church.

Now, which of all these various churches is the one true Church of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for all claim to be the Church of Jesus?

It is evident no church can be the Church of Jesus except the one that was established by Jesus.

Any Church, that has not existed this long, is not the Church of Jesus Christ, but is the institution or invention of some man, but not of God, not of Christ.

And when did Jesus establish His Church? When He was here upon earth. And how long ago is it that Christ was upon earth? You know our Christian era dates from Him. He was born many centuries ago. That is an historical fact admitted by all. He lived on earth thirty-three years. That was about nineteen centuries before our time. That is the time Christ established His Church on earth. Any Church, that has not existed this long, is not the Church of Jesus Christ, but is the institution or invention of some man, but not of God, not of Christ.

The history of all nations, of all people, bears testimony that the Catholic Church is the oldest and the first. It is the one established by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Not only all history, but all the monuments of antiquity bear testimony to this, and all the nations of the earth proclaim it.

In St. Matthew, 28:19-20. Our Divine Savior says to His Apostles: "Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe whatsoever I have commanded you. Lo," says He, "I, Jesus, The Son of the Living God, I, the Infinite Wisdom, the Eternal Truth, am with you all days, even until the end of the world."

St. Paul, in his Epistles to the Galatians, says: "Though we Apostles, or even an angel from heaven were to come and preach to you a different Gospel from what we have preached, let him be anathema." That is the language of St. Paul.

Religion must come from God, not from man. No man has a right to establish a religion. No man has a right to dictate to his fellow-man what he shall believe and what he shall do to save his soul. Religion must come from God, and any religion that is not established by God is a false religion, a human institution, and not an institution of God. And therefore did St. Paul say in his Epistles to the Galatians, "Though we Apostles or even an angel from heaven were to come and preach to you a new Gospel, a new religion, let them be anathema."

If we wish to locate the Church founded by Jesus, we need to locate the one that has the four chief marks or qualities of his Church. The Church we seek must be one, holy, catholic, and apostolic.

The Church Is One (Rom. 12:5, 1 Cor. 10:17, 12:13, CCC 813–822)
Jesus established only one Church, not a collection of differing churches (Lutheran, Baptist, Anglican, and so on). The Bible says the Church is the bride of Christ (Eph. 5:23–32). Jesus can have but one spouse, and his spouse is the Catholic Church.

His Church also teaches just one set of doctrines, which must be the same as those taught by the apostles (Jude 3). This is the unity of belief to which Scripture calls us (Phil. 1:27, 2:2).

Although some Catholics dissent from officially-taught doctrines, the Church’s official teachers—the pope and the bishops united with him—have never changed any doctrine. Over the centuries, as doctrines are examined more fully, the Church comes to understand them more deeply (John 16:12–13), but it never understands them to mean the opposite of what they once meant.

The Church Is Holy (Eph. 5:25–27, Rev. 19:7–8, CCC 823–829)
By his grace Jesus makes the Church holy, just as he is holy. This doesn’t mean that each member is always holy. Jesus said there would be both good and bad members in the Church (John 6:70), and not all the members would go to heaven (Matt. 7:21–23).

But the Church itself is holy because it is the source of holiness and is the guardian of the special means of grace Jesus established, the sacraments (cf. Eph. 5:26).

The Church Is Catholic (Matt. 28:19–20, Rev. 5:9–10, CCC 830–856)
Jesus’ Church is called catholic ("universal" in Greek) because it is his gift to all people. He told his apostles to go throughout the world and make disciples of "all nations" (Matt. 28:19–20).

For 2,000 years the Catholic Church has carried out this mission, preaching the good news that Christ died for all men and that he wants all of us to be members of his universal family (Gal. 3:28).

Nowadays the Catholic Church is found in every country of the world and is still sending out missionaries to "make disciples of all nations" (Matt. 28:19).

The Church Jesus established was known by its most common title, "the Catholic Church," at least as early as the year 107, when Ignatius of Antioch used that title to describe the one Church Jesus founded. The title apparently was old in Ignatius’s time, which means it probably went all the way back to the time of the apostles.

The Church Is Apostolic (Eph. 2:19–20, CCC 857–865)
The Church Jesus founded is apostolic because he appointed the apostles to be the first leaders of the Church, and their successors were to be its future leaders. The apostles were the first bishops, and, since the first century, there has been an unbroken line of Catholic bishops faithfully handing on what the apostles taught the first Christians in Scripture and oral Tradition (2 Tim. 2:2).

These beliefs include the bodily Resurrection of Jesus, the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, the sacrificial nature of the Mass, the forgiveness of sins through a priest, baptismal regeneration, the existence of purgatory, Mary’s special role, and much more —even the doctrine of apostolic succession itself.

Early Christian writings prove the first Christians were thoroughly Catholic in belief and practice and looked to the successors of the apostles as their leaders. What these first Christians believed is still believed by the Catholic Church. No other Church can make that claim.

Prove that mama is not trying to make Mary a Co‑Redemptrix.

A lay movement called “Vox Populi” (“Voice of the People”) gathers signed petitions to send to the Pope, seeking to have him officially declare that Mary is Co‑Redemptrix. Over six million signatures have been sent to him, representing 138 countries and all seven continents. This doctrine is supported by over 40 cardinals and 600 bishops worldwide.

Queenship Jubilee Year 2000 Catalog, page 92. This is a catalog of the Queenship Marian Center for World Peace, which promotes the doctrine of Mary as Advocate, Mediator, and Co-Redemptrix. It also promotes the petition. The catalog gives information about the petition's progress, and about church leaders who support the doctrine.

Pope Benedict XV said of Mary that “[O]ne can justly say that with Christ, she herself redeemed mankind.”

Pope Pius IX said, “Our salvation is based upon the holy Virgin... so that if there is any hope and spiritual healing for us we receive it solely and uniquely from her.”

In the Encyclical Intersodalicia (1918). Quoted in Donald G. Bloesch, Essentials of Evangelical Theology, Vol. 1, page 196.

In the Encyclical of February 2, 1849. Quoted in Donald G. Bloesch, Essentials of Evangelical Theology, Vol. 1, page 196.

I challenge any catholic to ask their priest for this book:

"The Glories of Mary" which was written by Bishop Alphonse de Liguori, one of the greatest devotional writers of the Roman Catholic Church, and the Word of God taken from the Douay Version which is approved by the Church.

I am a former catholic. So I know what I say is 100% fact.

"The" Word of God (AV1611) speaks against any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex (Gen. 2:24; 19:5, 13; 26:8-9; Lev. 18:1-30; Rom. 1:26-29; I Cor. 5:1; 6:9; I Thess. 4:1-8; Heb. 13:4).

imacatholic2 has stated on Yahoo answers that mama does not consider homosexuality a sin. Is it any wonder why the catholic church is being sued for millions every year because the priest won't leave the children alone? And yet, some catholics actually believe that the media is being "unfair" to report the problem as offen as they do yet claim the problem is only a "hand full" of people. But refuse to admit that the catholic church has had this problems for hunderds of years. This too is documented fact.

The Bible makes no "hint" what so ever to purgatory. It's all just a lie. Refer to John 8:44!

The Catechism even says that the Catholic Church created it:
"The Church formulated her doctrine of faith on Purgatory especially at the Councils of Florence and Trent." Pg. 268-269, #1031

Just like the lie claiming Peter was the first pope.

Yet, in Latan and Greek it say that Simon means "sand" and Peter means "a little stone". Jesus said, "on this rock I will build my church." So Peter could never be that rock because right after that, Jesus calls Peter "Satan". Ponder that! Read 1 Tim. 3:2-5 and John 1:42, "Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone." (a little pebble). Jesus and Jesus alone is the Rock!

Quoting the vatican:

"We know without a doubt that Holy Scripture is incomplete. How do we know that? Holy Scripture itself clearly tells us that it is incomplete. Consider the following:
Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name. (Cf. John 20:30-31)"

How does "signs" prove that God "forgot" to mention purgatory in His Bible? Again, refer John 8:44.

"Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."

And yet, catholics' today actually act like they are offended for quoting the vatican...???

Up Date:

I emailed Robert W and ask him to state in what verse of the Bible does it say that the Bible is incomplete. He told me that the Bible itself states it is incomplete (9-12-07). I'll post it here if he sends it to me. Otherwise, this will continue to read what you see now. Proving my point that catholics' are very mislead people. Because I already know that the Word of God say no such thing.

I can use interpretations of Scripture that prove that the Catholic Church is the Church founded by Christ, in the same way the non-Catholics can interpret Scripture to disprove the validity of the Catholic Faith. So, then, what is really at hand is a difference in interpretation of Scripture. This in itself is logical proof that Sola Scriptura is an erroneous doctrine.

Whether the Catholic Church is the one true Church founded by Jesus Christ for all mankind is a historical question, not a biblical one. It is true of course that the Catholic Church alone teaches the fullness of truth, and the Catholic Church alone fully follows the teaching in its own book, the Bible. But this won't "prove" anything to Protestants because each manmade denomination has its own interpretations of that same Catholic book, and each denomination believes its own interpretations to be infallible, despite the fact that they conflict with the interpretations of hundreds of other Protestant churches.

History however speaks for itself and can't be interpreted away. Historical records by the Catholic Church and about the Catholic Church, by that name, can be be found in every period of history since the first few years of the Second Century, and there is no mention of any other Christian Church for more than a thousand years after the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior. We know from Scripture that Jesus Christ founded ONE Church, invested full authority in that ONE Church, and stated that his followers were to remain ONE. The Catholic Church is the living fulfillment of God's stated plan, teaching the fullness of truth in unity and authority. Denominationalism exists in direct violation of God's stated plan, founded on untenable manmade traditions like sola scriptura, and characterized by doctrinal chaos.

The short answer is NO. However, you can use the scriptures to show that the catholic church is NOT the church that Christ founded and some of the practices of the catholic church are in direct contradiction with God's word.

You can try, but it won't work. The Church is not spoken of in Scripture except to mean the body of Christ, all believers who have been born again and saved through the work of Christ. We have the truth, from Scripture, the full revelation of God's word and a full and complete relationship with Christ.

Tit 3:4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared,
Tit 3:5 not by works in righteousness which we had done, but according to His mercy, He saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,
Tit 3:6 whom He poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ, our Savior;
Tit 3:7 that being justified by His grace, we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Gal 3:26 for you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:27 For as many as were baptized into Christ, you put on Christ.
Gal 3:28 There cannot be Jew nor Greek, there is no slave nor freeman, there is no male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Rom 8:16 The Spirit Himself witnesses with our spirit that we are children of God.
Rom 8:17 And if children, also heirs; truly heirs of God, and joint-heirs of Christ, if indeed we suffer together, that we may also be glorified together.

Eph 2:8 For by grace you are saved, through faith, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God;
Eph 2:9 not of works, that not anyone should boast;
Eph 2:10 for we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before prepared that we should walk in them.

Not without adding to or taking away from what is written. And we all know what the Bible says about this.

Catholics do not use the Bible as a text book. They consider it incomplete, however holy it may be. It is not the full text, but a guide. The Bible came out of Catholicism, not the other way around. Protestantism is missing several books in their version as well.

I don't think catholicism is the true faith

Jesus said in Luke 11

27As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, "Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you."

28He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."

but they worship mary ( whether they admit it or not!) and add onto the bible. i think they missed the key points of this sermon... :)
