I read Tarot. In my experience, the cards tell you where you are, not where you will be, and what you're ignoring or avoiding - what needs to get some attention in order to progress.

I've been reading for over 15 years. I don't believe the cards tell the future. I use them as guides to bring my attention to things I may be actively or unconsciously not paying attention to.

Tarot cards can offer one of many paths that you may take in the future, however it will always be very vague. Their best accuracy I find is in present situations, and giving advice on how to deal with things. Although it really does depend on your reader and their interpretation of the cards.

As to whether or not they tell the future, the cards are always fairly vague about things, so it's often the readee making their meaning more concise and attributing events to them. There's also the time scale issue, unless the spread specifically is designed to tell you over what time period to expect things (like the calender spread, and others), you can never say when they'll happen, the future is a big stretch of time.

Tarot cards are real. They can be purchased in stores or online. They are open to interpretation so the readings are subjective.

Are Tarot cards real? Like with any psychic prediction, Tarot card reading relies on three primary elements: cold reading, vague or high-probability predictions and confirmation bias. The reader never mentions any specifics. So by making very vague predictions (i.e. you might find someone special in the next 6 months) and high probability predictions (i.e. you'll be attracted to a brunette in the next 6 months), he can build on the evidence you've confirmed via this cold reading (i.e. you're single and looking). Then, once 6 months have passed, you'll remember what he did predict (and fill in any blanks) and forget that which he didn't.

This question really belongs in the Science & Math/Alternative section.

You say you have been going to someone and that he is "good", but you are questioning if he is for real or not...did he tell you something you don't want to hear? It's hard to say if he is for real or not since we don't know what you have asked him and if any of his "predictions" have been accurate.

I read Torot cards with success. However, the point of legitimate divination is to identify influences in your life. No reputable reader is going to tell you that the future is written in stone. Also, the problem of going to readers who charge money is that...well, they charge money. Thus, it is in their best interest to give you a reading that you like so that you'll come back to them.

Tarot cards can tell you nothing, they are merely a tool, but there are people who get insights while using these tools.

in my experience it is the person reading them that is real or unreal not the cards. the cards simply give indications and then the person who reads them uses their own interpretation of the cards.

They are only real if you believe in them enough.
