Do you "choose" every thought you have ever had, or did some thoughts occur without you ever choosing them?

If you have thoughts that you never chose to have, your free will is being affected.

In reality, we don't have free will at all. It's an illusion.

Lion of Judah: Your post would take too long to deal with it and you wouldn't understand my reasons, but suffice it to say that you're just flat out wrong. Look at my old posts for details.

You guys really don't understand what free will is, do you? Google it and do some study on a philosophy site.

Free will is defining itself. You chose to do what ever whether it be a life changing matter or a thought that just pops up. It is a decision that it made by the person's own will, no one is forcing them to do what they do. Some thoughts can occur without being chosen.

Thoughts come and go in our minds, it has nothing to do with free will. Free will has to do with the decisions that we make..take for an example this...You're married, but you see a hot young blonde walking down the street with a skirt that barely covers her butt. Sexual thoughts (tempations) start to creep in (i.e. getting her phone #, taking her to a hotel...etc.), now here is were your free will takes place. Do you act on the thoughts or do you put them out of your mind and head home to your loving wife.

Also, I know that you keep asking the same question over and over again about free will..Has someone maybe taken your free will to ask another question?

The free will part comes in when you make the choice to entertain the thought or discard it.

Thoughts always come into my mind. The thing about trying to put away unclean thoughts is to not acknowledge them. Or you get rid of them immeadiately. Especially teens. It doesn't always work out that way though. I know cuz I can't always put them away myself. LOL!

Meat...This is your least creepy Avatar yet. Unless that's Tom Cruise's forehead, in which case it's the creepiest yet.

No, the devil can put a thought in your head, the free will comes in, when you decide to entertain the though or reject it.

You have no control over thots that "pop into your head."

Its like this:

You have no control over a bird landing in your hair. You DO have control over whether or not it builds a nest there.

I can't choose them but I can choose to ignore them and eventually they stop coming. Sometimes I have to ask forgiveness.

free will is more about being able to make choices in life, ex. like whether or not to live for Jesus
