A hammer works on trucks that are reasonably priced, but I don't know if I would use it on expensive trucks.

if its not a big dent you can try the method shown in the link i haven't tried it but it looks easy and definitely cheap.

any auto store has dent pullers and they are pretty cheap...you'll also need a sander, filler, body hammer and anvil, lots of stuff..(:P>
