In the bible, if a woman is raped but doesn't scream, she is ordered to be killed.

In the Old Testament, if a man deflowers a virgin he owes the dad some money....the girl gets nothing.

In the New Testament, if a woman cheats the man can divorce...if the man cheats the woman cannot divorce.

If you are looking for advice on abuse, I wouldn't look to the bible. It was written during the bronze age by a barbaric people (everyone was barbaric then).

Abuse of any kind is wrong, and if a person in my church is found to be abusing anyone, they are subject to discipline up to and including excommunication. Check out the link below for what my church says about abuse.

uh...

DUH!

Regarding child abuse, the New Testament says...
Matthew 18:6- better to drown
Mark 9:42- better to drown
Luke 17:2- better to drown

I'm LDS (Mormon), so here's what God has said about child abuse in 1839...
Doctrine & Covenants 121:19... excomunication, damnation.

In general, abuse is seen as wrong. It's mistreatment of one of God's creations- whether it's abuse of an animal or one of His beloved children.... It's not worth incuring His wrath to get whatever it is that abusers get out of their behavior.

None is acceptable mentally, emotionally or physically. John 13:34-35. They way we represent Christ is by loving. Jesus said: 34.A new commandment I give unto you, that you love one another as I have loved you, that you also love one another 35. By this shall all men know that you are my disciple if you have love one toward another.
