if god is all powerful and can do everything he should be able to make mistakes. Saying god is faultless limits the power of god.
So if you accept the premise that god is all powerful it follows that god makes mistakes (though being all powerful should also come with the power to rectify the mistakes retroactively).
I also get the impression that god thought drowning everybody in a worldwide flood was a mistake, or why would he have promised to never to that again? Sounds very much like a bad conscience to me.
And it is as impossible to prove god as it is impossible to disprove god.

An omniscient God is not capable of making a mistake because He knows the beginning and the end.
It is the idea of being able to see the result before it ever happens. If you know the way something turns out, it would not be possible to make a mistake. For instance, if you knew the results of the next Lotto drawing in advance, how could you possibly make a mistake and pick the wrong numbers?
That's the way it is for God, He sees the future and knows the correct moves along the way in getting there. That's why I trust in and follow Him.
God bless you.

Personally, I don't believe God exists. But to answer your question, the way I would see it, if I did believe, is that when God created us, we were a perfect likeness of what he envisioned. Giving us free will, the ability to create our own path in life, that's where God ends and we begin. The mistakes we make are of our own doing. The world we live in was built and re-built by man. God simply looks down on us and occasionally throws down a clue to help us out.

He it is Who created for you all that is in the earth; then He turned towards the heavens, and He perfected them as seven heavens; and He has perfect knowledge of all things.
God - there is no god save Him, the Living, the Self-Subsisting and All-Sustaining. Slumber seizes Him not, nor sleep. To Him belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that dare intercede with Him save by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them; and they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He pleases. His knowledge extends over the heavens and the earth; and the care of them wearies Him not; and He is the High, the Great.

It's impossible for Jehovah God to make a mistake, since Jehovah is perfect. It is also impossible for God to lie. To prove it, read the Bible.

I think that if he existed then he did. Consider his first creations the angels had no free will and 1/3 for them rebelled giving us Lucifer and demons. Not learning from that experience, humanity was not only given free choice but was allowed to be tempted by the last rebellious leader. This is clearly not a recipe for success.

according to Christianity, God created everything. Therefore God created Satan. According to Christianity, God is omniscient. Therefore God knows everything that has happened, everything that is happening, and everything that is going to happen.
Stay with me...
Therefore God KNEW that Satan was going to cause a lot of misery in humans BEFORE he even created Satan. Yet he still created Satan.
So either -
a) God intended to create Satan knowing that Satan would cause/assist to cause human misery, suffering, sin etc.
or
b) God made a mistake
Either one of those options would mean that the Christian God doesn't hold to the Christian belief of what Christians wish God to be like.

because god is the supreme creator, and he knows all that was, is, and ever shall be. So he is supreme maker, and above all mortals. since he created all. now, no other leader is perfect. they are just as liable as the rest of the people to make mistakes.
