I'm a teenager and I suddenly dropped twenty pounds over the summer, leaving me at 5 feet 1 and a half inches and 105 pounds. My parents are worried and I have no idea why I lost so much weight. I'm eating regularly and also on two medications Plaquenil and Prednisone. A side effect of Prednisone is weight gain but I'm still losing weight. What's happening?

Has anyone told you that you may have just lost your baby fat? If you continue to loose weight, then you should be concerned. When I was your age, people would come back from summer break skinny all the time.

I recently was diagnosed with Lupus and was put on Plaquenil. I also am about 5' 2" and went from 115 lbs. to 107 within a short period of time. It's a side effect of the medication.

i do no longer understand in case you could LOSE 10 IBS IN 2 WEEKS, yet in all danger IN 3. in case you eat under 60 GRAMS OF CARBS in step with DAY AND exercising a minimum of two times a week you could LOSE as much as 5 LBS a week. CARBS LIKE RICE, WHITE BREAD, BREADED, FRIED ingredients, FRENCH FRIES, POTATOES AND goodies ARE WHAT MAKE YOUR physique carry ONTO WEIGHT. SO give up eating those ingredients AND YOUR physique WILL launch the burden. purely be certain you eat 3 nutrients an afternoon AND as much as two SNACKS an afternoon AND the burden WILL COME OFF. aerobic, TREADMILL, SWIMMING, SKI gadget, DANCING, WEIGHT practise ARE ALL great styles of exercising.

Anyone who loses so much weight in a short amount of time should go see their physician immediately. It could be the combination of medication or a deeper underlying reason. You need to go and get it diagnosed.

No idea.

Right now, you're at what would normally be a good weight for you. But you may want a check-up to make sure nothing else is out of whack.

Good luck!

are you sure you're reading the directions for the medicine? maybe your supposed to eat with the pill, or drink something with it, that is most likely the cause of your weight loss. If that doesnt work, call your pharmacy or dotor.

You should let your doctor know as soon as possible. It could be a reaction to your medication, or some other issue, such as your thyroid not functioning right. Bloodwork should either confirm or deny this.

Do you have other symptoms, like fatigue, lack of energy, nausea, headaches, lightheadedness? If so, it's probably time for a check-up.

Go to the doctor. You could have an overactive thyroid?
