I was just drinking a bottled tea, and it tasted rotten. It doesn't normally taste that way, but it was very sour, hot, and left a bad aftertase in my mouth. Could there be poison?

Probably not poisoned, but it might have gone bad.
Keep the bottle and the cap just on the off-chance you DO become ill. It will help the company to be able to track down the rest of that batch so stores can get it off the shelf faster and prevent other illnesses.

Sounds like the tea was fermented. The manufacturer probably had some yeast in the batch and it turned your tea into some kind of alcohol. YUCK.
The good news is, it isn't poisonous. You will be fine.
Please call the manufacturer, give them the information on the bottle, then return the product to the store. The store will do an internal investigation, and pull the remaining batch, that way no one else has the same experience you did!

It's probably just bad tea, not poison. Drink a bunch of water and go to the ER if you feel sick at all. SOOOO Sorry! That had to be horrible!

maybe not. It might have gone bad. There should be an 1800-number on the bottle call the number and see what they might say.

It was probably way past its expiration date. Bottled tea is very hard to make and keep 'fresh'.

that's really nasty...I assume you stopped drinking it? If you didnt have more than a couple swallows I wouldnt think it would be harmful if it;s just expired.
