and if so, do you theme it to the seasons and festivals?
What have you got on there for Mabon/Autumn Equinox?

Yes i have two. One is my own personal altar and the other is my family altar where my children like to put offerings from the garden.
Over here in the southern hemisphere we are at a different time of the wheel to you so mine is about to be decorated for Ostera.
Already i have spring themes because for the last few weeks all the flowers are beginning to bloom and the warmth has begun to return.
Blessed Be

Yes I do.....It has a bit of seasonal stuff but I use it so much each day that I don't like to get it too cluttered. I meditate alot, read tarot there and such. I'll put some autumn looking leaves on it for Mabon.... I'm a real sucker for candles though. I love them and have huge ones all over the room where my altar is. In the evenings I use them for light most of the time instead of lamps. My altar looks very gothic with all the candles, candle holders that are there.

my altar is in the parlor, which has become a junk room lately, so i can't get to the altar. i leave a libation bowl on the hearth, and while i'm being domestic, place seasonal items. for mabon i would leave the sheath of wheat from lammas and add a leaf garland, indian corn, or gourds as the mood struck. what's in there now is a piece off an old building, as an offering for the protection of my city's historic buildings and sensible development and my runes, which have been soaking up hearth energy for months [not that there's much of it in a seldom-used room, tho].

MM. Mine is an apothecary chest (many drawers). because of the fact of room format it particularly is on the West. I do even although orientate products representing the quarters in accordance to the compass although - that's a darn-sight much less perplexing than working over hearth! on the 2d I easily have some crystals, shells, feathers and candles on there - alongside with some sparkling flowers in a huge vase. For circlecasting I easily tend to do this mentally - to contain the Altar as though the wall become no longer there. in spite of works for you. Cords - very lots a coven element, yet in particular circumstances use cotton piping from a textile providers - thickness appropriate to the dimensions of a skinny straw, coloration based on use. Love and lightweight to you and yours.

Send me your email address off-line and I'll send you some photos of a medium sized chest that I bought at Hobby Lobby and converted into an altar for all seasons that can be discreetly closed up when there are Christians hanging about.

I have several "sacred spaces" set up in my home. My work/study area, usually just has books & notebooks piled on it. My ancestors altar is always the same, my ritual altar is only out during ritual, and is decorated according to the seasons, or ritual purpose.

I have one, but I don't change it much. I add trinkets to it and occasionally put fresh flowers on it, but otherwise I don't think it's been changed in almost a year...

I keep my candles and decorations all over the house, so I don't really focus on making my altar seasonal. :D

I have several shrines and altars in my home, but I don't theme them for any particular festival.

One of my primary shrines is on my kitchen stove where I keep a perpetual flame for Hestia.

Yes, I have three. One in a separate room that I use privately and two in the living room for everyone to use. They don't change much throughout the year. Add something, take something off occassionally.

Yes I have one. I place things that remind me of the natural beauty of this earth on it, like various flowers in season, smooth stones, pieces of pine cone, seeds, etc.
