Howdy.
I would simply go to MedOnLine and type
Degenerative disc disease. It is usually a term describing a loss of calcium in your bones.
Other names are Osteoporosis. That is the best one to use because it is the term most used by physicians. When they speak in lay terms, they will say degenerative bone disease. I am sorry to hear about this. I bet you hurt a lot.

Ibuprofen will help ease the pain, but you also need to build up your body with calcium. A inexpensive way to do this would be to take Tums at least four times a day. Check out sources of calcium on line as well.

I'm not sure where to research, but I would like to warn you about taking prescription medicines to prevent bone loss. I have a good friend who's a dental hygienist, and she sees people all the time who have teeth and jaw issues because of leading bone density prescriptions. The problem is that instead of helping build new bones, these prescriptions keep the bones from sloughing off old material. But bones are meant to be dynamic- bringing in and giving out nutrients and constantly regenerating. When they don't let go of old material, they become old and brittle over time.

Instead, I'd suggest checking out the last link here. It's a brand new supplement (just came out last month) that is actually meant to INCREASE bone density. Let me know if you'd like more info about it.

This is osteoarthritis due to wear and tear of the joints. This should give you all the info you need. This is NOT the same as osteoporosis which is a thinning of the bone.
