The game Trouble and we play it every Sunday night at 7pm :). You guys should come join us! My boys are 9, 7 and 3 (little girl is 1m) and ADORE that game! That's all I ever hear about: "Mom can we play trouble?" On Sunday night guys.
They also enjoy:
Sorry (working w/ numbers, counting)
Topple (hand-eye coordination) http://www.liveandlearn.com/pics/topple.jpg
Disney Scene It (BIG HIT),
Twister
and Junior Monopoly ( helps my 3yr him with numbers). I think what's good about those games in some of them have "Miss One Turn) and that can help children when it comes to learning to take turns. We also play Gold Fish and 3-way war (not that exciting). We also have extreme Uno (easy for a 3yr) that comes with this machine that spits cards out and makes noise and my boys get a kick out of it. I've also done a lot of arts and crafts with them. We've made little model cars and airplanes, painted them and glued them together, decorated picture frames etc. My boys really enjoy doing things like that.
Best Wishes =]

My kids have a huge age difference. My Oldest will be 22 next month and my youngest just turned 9. I also have an 18 and 20 yr old. The three oldest all live on their own but when they were at home we'd play the big kid games and the little one would just "play" and we'd let him take a turn and we would tell him he won even though we all knew he didn't. He's a little spoiled being so young compared to the others. So I would suggest sometimes play the little kids games like Cootie, Ants in The Pants and Candy Land, other times play the bigger kids games and just let the little one "play" and take turns like everyone else.
You could also play tag or hide and seek and have you and the three year old be a "team" and help the three year old hide.

I have a 4 and 6 yr old, and even though they are a little closer in age than your kids we have the same issue at our house sometimes. It's the same with movies/tv time too. It's tough to get them to agree on a movie for movie night.
I think it's a lot to expect of a 3 yr old to sit and play a board game. But there's one called Cranium Balloon Lagoon that we play all together that is very cute. The 7 yr old might think it's babyish but my six year old boy plays it and helps a lot by setting it up. If you don't have it, it's a great game. There's Cranium Hullaballoo also which the little one will love and it's short, so you could play a few rounds and the older one wouldn't have to endure too much. It's not a turn-taking game but it's fun and silly.
Friends of mine play games like simon says and "trivia" games (they just come up with questions themselves) with their 3 kids on game night. Charades is another good one because any age can do it if it's not too hard.
My six year old will play chutes and ladders, he doesn't seem to find that babyish. We also had a dinosaur dig game which was like Operation but with dinsosaur bones. Both kids liked that one til it stopped buzzing.
I think the key is to pick short games to keep the 3 yr old's attention. The cranium games are my favorites. There's no harm in letting the 7 yr old endure a babyish game or two for the sake of everyone having a good time!

My kids are ages 7, 6, and 3. There are things to do together without it having to be a game. We love to draw with sidewalk chalk. We love to also play pictionary. We have a white board and my husband or I will draw and each child has their own turn to guess. We draw things that are according to their age range. Also there are such things as the freeze game done with music. Play music and when you stop the music they have to freeze. Do scavenger hunts each one appropriate for their age. They also love bike riding. If you have bikes and you have a seat on the back of yours or something. If your three year old is anything like mine she will do anything to keep up with the siblings. So just find stuff that your oldest will do and just set the rules...The 3 year old plays with both of you or you all can't play.
The key is that you play with the kids and find ways to make whatever it is that you do fun.

Sorry is usually a good game for kids because it wouldn't be too babyish for the 7 year old or too hard for the 3 yer old. Yahtzee is also good, but you might want to wait a little on that for the 3 year old. Trouble is also a good game. My kids have both always liked to play cards. I'd start with go fish, and uno.

A puppet show would be a great family activity. This activity allows both children to be creative by making their own puppets and coming up with skits of their own. To make it really funny you can come up with a really goofy skit everytime your family has a puppet show, they will really appreciate and remember all the fun times they had with you. Hope this idea helps you...
