very true! i have even heard others that are not christians say this. let me tell you what happened to me. i had wrote a check before the money was in there. (done this plenty of times and always deposited the money before check went through) well i spoke negative this one particular time saying "watch i wont get the money in time and that check will bounce" sure enough thats what happened. if your truthful with your self and think back to different times in your life youll see that you've done the same also.

James says that out toung is like a flame that if used carelessly can spread a forrest fire. religous or not i think everyone can agree thats a true statement. James also says that if we could control or tounge we could control all other things. Our actions and things we say are an overflow of our heart, and if we carelessly speak towards others in hurtful ways words can suck. So much good and encouragement can come from our words as well. how well would a football team play without fans. people need encouragement.
Where does God take up residence? lol he is everywhere. kinda hard to grasp but how the heck could we understand God?

Christians, you should start by this - quit pushing your religion on everyone else, like what Jesus had done according to the stories in your bibles, which doesn't seem to be the example most of you are following. the title of "Christian" wouldn't be the right one for most of you.
If you would be peacemakers like Jesus said in the sermon on the mount and tolerant to people of different faiths or of none then most of them would probably not have such a negative view of you and your religion. Think about that before words of judgement and condemnation come out of your mouth -- or keypad -- towards others. O, and one last thing -- you should at least TRY to openly and inoffensively explain the gaps found in the bible and your doctrine before defending it. you appear as childishly ignorant when pouting about your beliefs with no real basis.

Good point: Words are very powerful. That is the very reason why Jesus warns against oaths, because of the power of the words.
There is a good book about this called "Swear to God: The Promise and Power of the Sacraments" by Scott Hahn.

Speak words of love inspired by love.
Speak words of empathy but only by experience of empathy.
Speak truth because today there are many truths but most are used to support lies.
Do as inspired by the Holy Spirit, you'll know that inspiration as that inspiration only comes as love with no gain for itself.

God said words are the least purveyor of truth. Your feelings of the heart; this is what you should pay attention too. God is in each and everyone of us and in everything around us, God is everywhere. God wants us to talk to him, he loves us unconditionally. Isn't God great!!!!!!!!!!!
God Bless

Words aren't that powerful. I tried to get lightning to hit me this morning, but no matter how loud I shouted that Jesus did funny things with His mother, nothing happened.
