You do know they havent prooven evolution right?
Its a theory. Its from what we can gather how things work
I like it and I know where you are coming from. However if you are trying to talk about ignorance, its always best to touch on your own.
Evolution is not proveable, it is not fact. It is not something that is absolute. If you cling to it, you do so becuse you have faith in it. Just like religeon. Religeon is the why. Think of it as the explanation for why atoms work they way they do. There is no solid proof of it either. So to belive in it you also have to have faith?
Generally speaking christians and aethists have more in common then they like to belive.
Now for the part you'll like a bit. There is a movement that is gaining a lot of strength in the christian community to unify themselves with there aethist and heathen brothers. Its called evolution as god's way.
I personally belive evolution as a very useable theory that explains many things. and i does sadden me when people Idylly dismiss it becuse "it's hearecy!" but when anything is dismissed for being different it saddens me, as it should everyone.

People dont believe in evolution in this day and age is not just Christians. Its not being close minded at all if anything open minded. Look at the holes in evolution. To many to list here but there are many. Read the Origin of Species as its author Charles Darwin wrote about it. One big long argument. Lets drop this question that has been asked over 500,000 times at least and have some good conversation about things we dont know about and listen instead of being stuck in some mind set that you have heard and never investigated. Peace out...............

Well i agree to all but the big spike in intelligence form neadathral to homo sapiens that simply popped out into the world
Cause thats when the BS started
Other than that if we had a nice healthy growth i would believed it all
In other words shove me the prof and the skulls to make the transition
And no i don't believe in Christan God(tm)
In other words evolution was not putting in it the possibility of interference in to the account
But there is one thing I don't understand and that is how Christan's can ignore something that in Genesis makes sense

Well, just to be technical, I really don't think scientific theories are things that one "believes in." One "understands" them and/or "accepts them as a good theory.' However, "belief" has really nothing to do with it.
What do I think about people who dismiss the theory of evolution out of hand as "just a theory" or "proven wrong" or "without any proof."? I think they are ignorant of the facts.
What do I think of someone who questions the theory? It depends on how they are doing it. If they are doing it intelligently, then I am fine with it. If they are doing it out of ignorance and dogma, then I think they are misguided.
I had not heard that Bush has an issue with the theory of evolution. Do you have a link or reference to that?

I think it is sad. You can easily believe in religon and in science. Just remember that each asks different kinds of questions and uses different kinds of methodologies.
I think that the people who do not believe that Evolution is currently the best (though not the last) model for explaining life on Earth - I think they are the same folks who flipped out when Scientists said that the Earth is not the center of the Universe.
Fear is a terrible thing, isn't it ?

CONFUSED that they think "belief" has anything to do with evolution. It is simply the best explanation for the diversity of life based on observed data.
ANGRY at the leaders who spew nonsense as a replacement for reasonable scientific conclusions.
SAD that some people think ignoring objective observable truths because of dogmatic instruction.
CONCERNED for the future of this nation, when almost half of all citizens place bronze-age mythologies above what is blatantly true.

Of all the concerns I have regarding dubya, and there are many, his views on evolution pale in significance. Let's see, foreign policy, NAFTA, stem-cell research, the economy, Iraq, Iran, N. Korea, social security, global warming, energy...wow, the list just goes on, doesn't it? I don't find the evolution/creationism theoreticals of much importance in comparison. Where we are going is much more important, and more correctable, than where we came from.

Disappointment in the educational system and fellow man... Complete and utter disappointment. Think of all the incredibly smart/willingly ignorant/superstitious people there are out there that could have used those brains for medical science, politics, etc... all wasted on fairy tales.
Disgusting.

There have been some fascinating recent studies about this. It turns out that brain function impacts one's political views.
In a related story, 61% of independents and 57% of democrats think evolution is correct, compared with only 30% of republicans. 68% of republicans reject the science of biology, whereas only 37% of independents and 40% of democrats do.

The Earth is only 6000 years old.
God made us from Dust.
There was light before the sun.
Earth is the center of the universe.
Plants were created before light.
Stars were made at the end of one day in our 7 day creation.
My only question is, If the universe was created 6000 years ago, why can we already see light from stars millions of light years away?
