The fact that Hell is the announced punishment doesn't make it's level of punishment acceptable. You can't say "well you knew what the consequences were and did it anyway." If you do, then why don't you advocate torture for car theives?

Generally speaking, when something is a "penalty", it is not going to be desirable. It is going to be something that is "harmful" or "cruel" to some degree. If it was not, there would be no motivation to avoid it. ("If you steal the car, you will get a two weels vacation in Hawaii" - like that is going to stop anyone).

But you also make a common mistake. You seem to believe that hell is a punishment or a torture. It is not. It is a location. Anyone who goes there is simply in a place of separation from God. With the separation also comes a separation from all the things of God, such as love, kindness, mercy, morals, etc. It is the lose of those which will be "torment" for those in hell.

Kind of like prison. Being in a small room day after day is one thing. But being totally separated from live, your family, friends, etc is the worst part.

God will not torment anyone in hell. Those who go there will torment themselves for being such idiots as to choose it.

After all, they have been warned....

Good question. I'll ask Michael Vick...

edit: the reason for my sarcasm is that Mike is not only going to have to serve the penal code penalty (sentence) but has lost MILLIONS because of his conviction. I think he will suffer more for the hit in the pocket book than in prison.

In Saudi Arabia you would have your right hand cut off for stealing a car. American christians are jealous that they can't punish people like that.
That's why we need to keep all religious folks out of positions of power.

Hell is a terrible punishment, i cant even imagine the intensity of it. I'm so grateful that Jesus made a way for us to go to heaven instead.

What? I can't believe this is a legitimate question. I have always heard there is no such thing as a stupid question, but.....as they say, there is an exception to every rule.

hell is a location, not the punishment. no one really knows what happens once you get there. so your question is invalid.

Your "reasoning" won't change your ending up in hell, if you reject Jesus to your dying breath. So you're wasting your time.
