Yes, he was Catholic. I saw this question before on YA and researched it and found it to be true. He was raised in a very strict Catholic family and considered himself Catholic throughout his life. It is concluded that his strict beliefs are what lead to his one sided vision of only certain people being worthy and others not.... sound familiar? The right religion vs the wrong ones, The Catholic Witch Hunts and mass murders.... etc. etc. I wonder why people find this so far of a stretch?

Hi and good morning....First of all I had never heard that Hitler proclaimed to be a Christian...lol..that's ironic. If he had proclaimed to be a Christian and I'm not saying he didn't, then Hitler was one of those proclaiming the fact but in reality he wasn't. How can one be a true Christian and be prejudiced of another religion? or a different culture. Hitler was a dictator and was greedy for power and hated anyone that wasn't a Nazi. Now supposedly there is a picture of Hitler and his gf praying together before they were going to commit suicide. A few people that I know have seen this in a biography about him on the A&E channel. However I have not seen this as yet. Now if this is true then Hitler must have thought he was a Christian if he was praying to God to forgive his sins and felt that committing suicide was a mortal sin...lol..go figure. But saying that you are a Christian doesn't necessarily mean that you are. Good luck in finding that photograph. Have a blessed day!

It appears to me that any faith is in the heart, not in outward appearances. I have met people who seem wonderful, but have found they are not what they appear to be. The same is true for Christians and all other religions. You can act in any way you wish, but that doesn't mean you are as you pretend to be. You can clothe evil in angelic clothes, but the evil will triumph.
As for Adolph Hitler, who cares what religion he was? The man was a lunatic, with grandoise dreams of world domination, and wanted to erase the Jewish people off the face of the earth, killing them in monstrous ways.
If he prayed on his knees every day, read the Bible voraciously, attended church every Sunday and spouted Scripture at every turn, it still wouldn't matter. Adolph Hitler was no Christian.

Only God and Hitler knows because being a Christian is personal relationship to God.
If Hitler accepted the Lord Jesus in His heart and believed Him so Hitler might be in heaven.

Looks like The Reverend Soleil nailed all the documentation. Now you have to ask yourself what your definition of Christian is. Is it someone who pays lip service to the Church, gets on their knees in public, or condemns others to death for not believing in the same religion? Being Christian doesn't automatically make a person "good."

"My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Saviour as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded only by a few followers, recognised these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison. Today, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognise more profoundly than ever before in the fact that it was for this that He had to shed His blood upon the Cross. As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice. And if there is anything which could demonstrate that we are acting rightly it is the distress that daily grows. For as a Christian I have also a duty to my own people. When I go out in the morning and see these men standing in their queues and look into their pinched faces, then I believe I would be no Christian, but a very devil if I felt no pity for them, if I did not, as did our Lord two thousand years ago, turn against those by whom today this poor people is plundered and exploited." - Hitler

First of all if Hitler were alive today and running for president, every Christian in the United States would vote for him. Based on his speeches in the 1930's the Christian right would vote this jerk into office faster than you can say "W". Second can you find a picture of George W praying. Extra credit to find him on his knees doing it.

Hitler was raised Catholic and was in league with the Catholic church with his Nazi party. He made various speaches which made references to the Christian god again and again. The beltbuckles of Nazi's said "God with us".
Hitler's goal from the start was probably to replace the church with his religion of Nazism. He didn't want the church to take away from the power of his own organization. His hatred of the Jews was certainly motivated by a prejudice that was created directly from religion.
Despite what Christian apologists will try to claim, Hitler never did anything at all in the name of atheism and it is highly debatable whether there was any point in his entire life where he actually was an atheist, though he did at one point make fun of Christianity, revealing he thought it was absurd.
I guess now if you're going to call Hitler an atheist you have to also call Mother Theresa an atheist.

there are a lot of christians that don't outwardly pray.
When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites that love to stand and pray in the synagogues and corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Amen I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you shall pray, enter into your chamber The Lord is far from the wicked, and, having shut the door, pray to your and he will hear the prayers of the Father in secret: and your Father who sees in secret will repay you. Mat. 6:5-6.

Aparently you don't believe in Salvation by Grace. A strong tennent of the Christian faith. So we can get into heaven by working hard and being good people?
Here is a link to some photos of him leaving churches, and low and behold, one of him actually praying.
Will you now believe? Your level of evidence should be satisfied. Hitler was clearly a Christian.

I think MOST people make him out to be a Christian because , I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, Hitler stated in one of his MANY excuse speeches that it was Gods' will or something to that effect that the Jewish Nation and all other sub-species be eliminated...... People see or hear the word God and assume it makes the person who says it a Christian..... Pity...... the true nature of God is covered by darkness in those people...... People do not know, do not care to know, or just plain do not realize the power satan has on this earth...... Ears can not hear.... Eyes can not see..... satan appears as light to those who do NOT know the difference.......... Go in peace....... God bless
PS........ he(Hitler) (satan) used Gods name , just has many have through out time , to get the job done..... It worked well , didn't it ?? Look at the comments you are getting..... *Sigh*......
