Stuttering cannot be cured but there are ways to manage and cope. My family found that The Stuttering Foundation of America's book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" was a great help. One uncle who went to a speech therapist found that she used it in their sessions. It is not a book to just be read, though; you have to work through each step towards better speaking with less stuttering. It is written by a stutterer. You can get it at many public libraries or through the estore at www.stutteringhelp.org

Check this site out. A lot of people have overcome this issue. The younger the better. It can be done.

Have her talk to her doctor. It could be that she is having social anxiety and that being put on an anti-anxiety medication may solve it.
