128 mb of RAM is the minimum needed to run XP. If you were to upgrade with only that much memory, it will run - but it will be very slow. You need 256 to make it run adequately.

To upgrade, you would need an XP upgrade CD and an activation code. Simple boot with the CD in the CD drive and it should begin the upgrade for you. It is pretty much automatic.

While it is suppose to upgrade without losing anuthing off your hard drive, it is recommended that you back up any important data files (music, pictures, videos, documents, etc) before running the upgrade just in case....

I would not recommend it with 128MB RAM, ( You actually have 128K physically, your system has placed it's BIOS contents in a small part of your RAM, that is why the message says 127MB available for the OS). It will work, but you probably will not be happy with the performance.
Usually you get a much better package deal for your money if you update the entire computer, rather than spending a few hundred dollars on RAM upgrades to a very old computer.

Providing you have a machine that meets XP's system requirements, yes!

127mb RAM is enough to run XP, but you will find it a bit slow in places. I'd recommend a RAM upgrade at least for better perfomance from XP.

XP should have a minimum of 256 meg of memory, 512 is better. You can upgrade to XP just make sure you get the upgrade version rather than the full version because it's cheaper

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. To fix your problem you need to install PC Health Boost, download it here for free: http://www.getpchealthboost.com

It's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate; it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.

Yes you can upgrade, but it also depends on the other specs of your PC. Hard drive space, processor, etc. 128mb of RAM is on the low side for XP, if possible I'd recommend adding more RAM before the install, especially if you plan on adding anti-virus/anti-spyware protection and multi-tasking.

No. Windows XP has been tried and tested for several years so it has had most of the bugs resolved. Of course external threats via the Internet still pose a problem so you will have to get a range of programs to meet that threat i.e. anti-virus, anti-spyware and a firewall.

Yes,it might be a bit sluggish though and you want to download XP drivers for at least your modem and graphics adaptor then save them to disk before you do it. Drivers can be an issue if your hardware is elderly but most manufacturers have them available on their websites.
