The Master cleanse is a fast that lasts anywhere from 10 to 40 days, and you drink a homemade lemon mixture, as well as herbal laxatives and salt water flushes to rid the body of toxins.

I do this twice a year, and it truly resets my whole body.

I won't go into the debate about its scientific merit - I'll just say that for me it is a time of great reflection, great empowerment (because it is really, really tough sometimes) and great health.

There is so much to say about the cleanse, but maybe the best thing to do is go to this website:

http://www.therawfoodsite.com/mastercleanse.htm

As it has the recipe, the schedule, and some facts and info.

I will say this: The Master Cleanse is just as much about expelling toxins from your body as it is about fasting. You will have INSANE bowel movements. They will be intense. When you do the salt water flush in the mornings, you will need to stay near your bathroom for AT LEAST one hour. And I mean STAY CLOSE!! You will be RUNNING to the bathroom.

But afterwards, you will never have felt so light and peaceful in your whole life!!! Good luck with it, and take care!

It consists of drinking nothing but lemon water for several days. Of course it isn't safe/doesn't work. Cleansing diets are all the rage, but they're also a marketing ploy and unnecessary... the body "cleanses" itself naturally via diegestion and elimination.

If you go on this diet, you may lose a few pounds, but it won't be fat that is lost, just water. It will come right back if you start eating normally again.

It doesn't.

Don't know.

Guaranteed almost 100%...no.

"Cleansing" diets/programs/etc involve a combination of starvation and/or consuming rediculous consumables in stupid amounts. They are NOT safe, and never will be.

If you want to "cleanse" yourself, reduce your fat and sugar intake, and increase your fibre/roughage intake. The former will reduce your serum levels of both, and the latter will clear the crap...pardon the pun...out of your ailamentary canal (digestive system).

I don't believe in any of that stuff. Traditional exercise is best
