Narrowed urethra
Not drinking enough fluids
Pregnancy
Prostate inflammation or enlargement
Sexual intercourse, especially if you have multiple partners
Using a diaphragm for birth control
Prevention

Drink plenty of fluids.

Urinate after sexual intercourse.
Wear cloth undergarments.

Good luck.

Women tend to get more bladder infections than men. This is probably because women have shorter urethras, so it is easier for the germs to move up to their bladders. Having sex can make it easier for germs to get into your urethra.
You may be more likely to get an infection if you do not drink enough fluids, you have diabetes, or you are pregnant. The chance that you will get a bladder infection is higher if you have any problem that blocks the flow of urine from your bladder. Examples include having kidney stones or an enlarged prostate gland.
For reasons that are not well understood, some women get bladder infections again and again.
Antibiotics prescribed by your doctor will usually cure a bladder infection. It may help to drink lots of water and other fluids and to urinate often, emptying your bladder each time.
If your doctor prescribes antibiotics, take the pills exactly as you are told. Do not stop taking them just because you feel better. You need to finish taking them all so that you do not get sick again.
* Drink lots of water every day. YEP! IT REALLY WORKS!
* Try drinking cranberry juice or taking cranberry pills.
* Go to the bathroom often; do not try to hold it.
* If you are a woman, go to the bathroom right after having sex.
Here's something YOU SHOULD KEEP IN MIND:
You may be able to cure an early urinary tract infection (UTI) if you act promptly when you have the first symptoms of a UTI, such as pain and burning with urination. Home treatment steps that may stop an infection from progressing include:
* Drinking lots of water, along with cranberry juice, especially during the first 24 hours after your symptoms appear. This will help make the urine less concentrated and wash out the infection-causing bacteria. This may alter some of your body's normal defense mechanisms, but most doctors recommend drinking a lot of fluids when you have a UTI.
* Urinating frequently and completely to empty your bladder each time.
To relieve pain, take a hot bath or lay a heating pad over your genital area. Never go to sleep with a heating pad in place.
wash that area all the time my dear ..
and change pads all the time when you have your period..
don't overnight used pads..change them b4 going to sleep..
and the key thing drink plenty of "wAter"..
Hope i had help you in some ways..
get well soon..

UTI will not go away by itself. The ONLY way to cure UTI is to take a full course of antibiotics exactly as prescribed by a doctor. There are no home remedies. Drinking a lot of water and cranberry juice may help prevent UTI, but will not cure UTI. If left untreated, UTI will spread and cause kidney damage and other serious problems. You need to see a doctor ASAP.

Water will help a lot you need to flush out your kidneys and what better way to do this than with water but you will need to drink alot of water like 8 or 9 glasses a day and try to drink it as fast as you can, cranberry juice will also be good but not as good as water and it does not matter if it is tap water or bottled, before bottle water came along this is the way people got rid of their infections so the very health minded will say don't use tap water but just know you can use what you want, that will be your decision. I hope that this will help you, good luck and drink that water.

Drinking lots of water and Cranberry juice will help, but if you truly have an infection then you will need an antibiotic. The infection will only get worse without an antibiotic and can quickly spread to the kidneys. Trust me, that is not fun!
There is an over the counter medicine you can take. IT IS NOT AN ANTIBIOTIC, just something to help ease the pain. It's called Azo.

Drink lots of fluids, especially water and cranberry juice. That can help by changing the acidity of the urine thereby making it a more difficult environment for bacteria to live in. Hydration helps to dilute same bacteria. This is actually done to prevent and help uti improve. Go to a doctor to have your problem diagnosed first and then follow his or her advice from there.

It helps with the discomfort a bit but what you really need to do is change the PH. Drink cranberry juice for several days. You will be amazed at the results.

Yes, drinking water can help clear UTI, it can ONLY help, but it wont cure UTI completely. You have to take antibiotics, at the same time. You, however, should go to the doctor for prescriptions. No self medications, please.
