My favorite war is the Vietnam war because without it, we wouldn't have Full Metal Jacket, Platoon, or Apocalypse Now.

I think as far as studying purposes and movie purposes, World War II takes the cake. It is such a dynamic period of time with fascists and communists and democratically elected bodies all coming together to fight one another. It is also interesting because of the staggering amount of people that died and the disgusting way in which they were killed. Its also the last war the US actually had the balls to see through to the end which would be nice if we could have that again today, but I don't see it happening. I also really like the tv show Band of Brothers, probably one of the best television series every made, and movies like Saving Private Ryan and Schindler's List. The axis vs the allies and all the rest...I mean it is simply one of the most interesting and world-changing wars ever.

Kate I agree with John C, about which one I like to study most.. That would be the Revolutionary war in the US that allowed us to break free from England. Other than one to study I have no favorite war as too many people have lost their lives in all of the wars over the years and that includes many of my relatives....

how can any war be an all time favorite? what kind of question is that especially to ask today. have u every been to war? Well people in my family and friends have been to war and though it might sound exciting to you because you will get another movie from it, it is not fun. I have lost people to war, my 30 yr old daughter lost a dear friend in iraq and im sure when they make a movie on that, you'll be the first in line to get it.

I would have to say the Falklands. This war shows how Britain, being outnumbered, being miles away from home and only having sertain supplies beat Argentina against all the odds. Well done Britain!

Every war against oppression in which the oppressors were defeated by the oppressed people who then managed to live without oppression for a generation or so. It never lasts long

Barbary Wars which was one long war (1801-1830) against the terrorists that threatened Europe (and started to threaten the U.S.) for hundreds of years. It was started by the U.S. and finished by the French invasion of Angola. It was the war that showed cutting and running and appeasement doesn't work against terrorists.

Isn't this question a little like, "What's your favorite disease?". World War ll was probably the one in which the U.S. troops were at their best and most popular. I regard even that war as indicative of collective insanity.

Every once in a while I declare war on an M&M Blizzard.
And I always win. So yeah, that would have to be my favorite.
