They're going a little crazy with the "report" thing. Now I know that *technically*, "I'll drink to that" isn't really within the guidelines of what sort of answers that they intended Y/A to receive, but they should also realize that we're their customers, and we've turned Y/A into a community that WE enjoy, and maybe that's a little bit outside of their "guidelines". As long as it's harmless, though, they should ease up and just let us enjoy ourselves. They should take it as a compliment that we enjoy being here.
That's not to say that everyone should be allowed to say just anything all the time, if there is something that is TRULY offensive, pornographic, or could be considered dangerous, then fine, delete it. Other than that, they should just chill out.

Get this. Yesterday somebody asked a question about the song "Stuck in the Middle" by Steelers Wheel. I said something along the lines that it was a great song to have playing in the background while you douse cops in gasoline and slice their ears off - referencing the scene in Reservoir Dogs. I got a violation notice for that, apparently because somebody thought I was actually advocating dousing cops in gasoline. (Note to the dull: I was not and am not advocating this. I was simply talking about a scene in a movie, which is the pop-culture reference point for most people nowadays who are familiar with that song at all.)

The fact that Yahoo has now emphasized their "Report Abuse" button and has even started a "Top Reporter" program of some sort is just plain sad. I guess they're trying to cultivate a culture of whiny, small-minded tattle-tales who would simply die if they were ever exposed to any opinion that isn't directly in line with theirs.

I don't understand the question. But I also don't understand how the person understood to report it. How did they know to be offended in the first place. This must be some sort of joke that cows are not privy to.

Heh, everyone has an opinion and they are certainly not all the same. You are playing in their yard, follow their rules. If you were playing in my house, I would require the same with my rules. If you want something different build your own website, then make your rules.....

i had my question deleted last week, i'd heard that a highway man called d*** turpin was a nasty guy. and had done nasty things to the young and old. it was deleted due to containing reference to a person harming a minor. it was in no way offensive, it was a genuine question about was he a good or bad guy. its getting ridiculous on here now.

Yep, that's basically it.
Don't bother trying to get the points back, they stopped doing that a while ago.
This new system only works for the whiners and wimps.

I was once deleted for something just as silly. I don't know how they work it, but it doesn't make sense sometimes.
