My sons 1st birthday is the 21st of October I am looking for party ideas such as food and themes. There are not going to be any young children there. Mainly adults and the youngest child will be 9, besides my son.

I would keep it small and simple. He wont know the difference so the party is really for the adults.

Then you really don't need any games/gimmicks. I would pick a theme the birthday boy enjoys (trucks, dogs, elmo, whatever) and keep it simple. He's not going to remember this day by the next day, you know. So don't overwork yourself, just lay out a bunch of easy finger foods that the baby can eat as well, and play some music! That's my two cents anyway. Save your energy for the parties he'll remember.

Good luck!

If that's the case, then keep it simple... Your son will not be enjoying it as much as other children will... He won't even remember it, so if you plan on having a BIG Birthday Bash, do it when he turns 2! That time he will really be enjoying it, and theme parties will be really perfect!!! Good Luck!!! ADvance Happy Birthday!!!

Maybe a football themed birthday party and you can have some cake and decor as well as having a game going on the tv.

You don't need to plan anything big - he won't remember a thing. Just have family members over for cake and ice cream, and to visit. Plan a big party for next year!
