Please do not use any quotes from the bible to prove your point. What actual proof is there that the bible was inspired by god? If there is no proof then why do people have faith that it was inspired by god.

What if someone right now came out with a book and said that it was inspired by god. How could you prove or disprove it?

Because many prophecies were fulfilled, and there are many eyewitness accounts to miracles, especially the ones in the New Testament. If the writers of the New Testament knew it was all a lie, why would they allow themselves to be martyred for a lie?
If I wrote a phony gospel and was threatened with death because of it, I would have said: "Whoaa there! Just kidding. I don't believe this whooey."
But they didn't do that: They gladly died for what they had written in the Scriptures.

Because it was written over a period of years, by many different 'pens'. Most of the people didn't know each other personally, yet there are those in the old testament who 'prophesied' about people and events in the new testament times, hundreds of years before those people were born or those events took place! Only the Holy Spirit' of God knows the begining from the end. They did not have computer technology back then either, to be able to transfer or project data. In answer to your other question, there have been many books people have been inspired to write, concerning God's involvement in their lives. I've read quite a few myself. When you 'know' the truth, it is hard to be decieved by the counterfiet. By the way, that is mostly what the Bible is; a collection of personal accounts of God's interaction with His people.

Some have already written some good reasons explaining why it's inspired.

But to go with a point you asked about why anyone couldn't write a book and claim it's inspired. Excellent point. Then why hasn't anyone done it? I suspect it's because there is only one book that can make that claim legitimately. All others have been rejected. Remember, the Bible is a book of books and letters written by many people over a long period of time. All of the books fit together like no other can. It's impossible to replicate. Try to picture it in secular terms. Could you add to what is considered great literary works that were written about 1000 years ago? I doubt it.

The truth, beauty and goodness contained in the writings of anything that was inspired by God (meaning the writers were inspired by God and then wrote it so as to share the profound things with others) will be recognized in the heart and mind as such by the honest, truth seeker. A desire to know if something really is inspired by God or if God agrees and approves its value and meaning
for the reader, then without doubt that person KNOWS - The Holy Spirit witnesses the truth contained in the heart of the reader. This is the only way, is to KNOW it in your own soul. People who are not yet aware of or born of or conscious of the leadings of the Spirit in their own lives find difficulty in understanding the eternal truths contained in things like parables or other symbolic representations.

If someone did write some things because they felt inspired by God, the reader's discernment in liason with the Spirit would reveal the truth of the writings.

The original texts, given to the original scribes... either directly or by inspiration... by God... were inerrant.... however... those texts were lost long, long, ago. No inerrant text of The Bible of The True Chirstian Faith is existant today.
The Bible does not "prove" any thing... The Bible does not prove The Faith... The Bible does not prove God... But God will prove The Bible to all who come to Him in The Way He prescribes... The Bible is not intended for those not open to the leading of God through The Holy Spirit. And those not open to God's leadiong will find nothing there for them

The Faith of those of The True Christian Faith is not based on The Bible... The Faith is in and from God and God alone.

There is a whole lot more but this is not the forum to expand on all of it...If you have nay honest question concerning the "basics" of The True Christian Faith feel free to email me. One honest question will receive one honest answer to the best of my ability.

Its says it in over 3000 places through and never says otherwise. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob lead His people into a system of faith that taught them to worship the One True God. Before this, there was only polytheism or pantheism in existance. There are many scientific, biologicla, astronomical, geophysical evidences in the Bible that were written when man had beliefs such as that the earth rested on the shoulders of Atlas, the back of a giant turtle or was flat and etc. The Bible is cohesive in unity and doesn't contradict itself. Out of all 66 books that were written by 44 authors...the only errors that can be found it it have to do with counting people up...which God grew angry with David for doing. The other errors have to do with translational understanding...like with words like candlestick vs lampstand, hell/hades/sheol, spirit vs Spirit and as well soul/spirit. It has to do with man assigning his own understanding to scripture...so while the Word of God is infallable...the historical accounts as were kept are marked with some minor, in the grand scheme of the entire work of the Bible, flaws...to be sure...it is perfect to be sure as it is sufficient for each generation. To this day however, the most accurate translation from the many pieces of ancient text is the King James Version as written in 1611 which contained the Apochrypha.

Any modern book written today could be inspired by God. People all over the world are bestowed upon with many varying tallents and writing is one of them...I know cuz I'm a writer so if I write a book, I could believe that it might be inspired by God if it supports the teachings of the Bible and doesn't vary. However, if most people understood what it took to recieve scripture into a complete volume, inspite of the missing sections, then you would see that it is a miraculous gift just in that case alone and wonder how writing from 3500 years ago or more could have arrived in your hands as intact as it has. The faith that the Bible is inspired by God comes from reading it and no other way...faith comes by hearing and hearing from the Word of God. Prophecy fulfilled is another reason...just check out this little tidbit...just fer a sec...Rev 11 - this section of the Bible discribes how the Bible will come into being and do its work. The Roman Catholic Church supressed scriptures for 1260 years before it was given back into the hands of the common people and given life again. Before that..the only way people could have scripture for themselves was if monks or pupils at univercity smuggled it either hidden in their clothes or hidden in the graves of deceased men of the clergy to be dug back up again...so it was "clothed in sackcloth" which monks wore as a sign of mourning. The two witnesses are the Old and New Testaments. Kinda blows your mind. I could tell you more but...you haven't solicited...so I won't force it on ya. You take care now. Love in Christ, ~J~

The proof comes in the pudding so to speak. If we look at the New Testament and Jesus we will see that the words Jesus spoke is true and came from the Father. How do we know without a doubt that what Jesus said was true?. Eyewitness accounts of Jesus and what He did...Also prophecy if one goes to the Old Testament one can see how the New Testament fulfilled the Old...Books of the bible in the Old testament talked about a Messiah coming to save us.....and how things would unfold.......How can this be? was it by chance that all prophecies are being fulfilled? How could they know the future and talk about it 1000's of years before it happened? I'll tell you......because the bible is Gods word....Only God could tell things to happen and be 100% correct....The Old Testament talked about the birth of Jesus and the exact family line that Jesus would come from. the exact place of His birth. How could they have known 1000 of years before it happened the probability of that happening by chance is 1, 125,000,000,000,000. There are numerous bible verses in the Old Testament to back these claims up.

This is quite an old book. That's why we don't know what happened that ancient time when it appeared. Many people copied it million times...We don't know who they were. The most important is the idea. The idea if belief in God, the belief that someone cares about you, it gives people power.
Besides there're some bibles that were not approved by the church, we can not say why we believe that one bible, why it was choosen as an authentic one?

You've made a good point.

The bible contains many stories and truth that relate to the nature and relationship of being and reality.

Why and how is reality responsive to the contents of consciousness. How and why do miracles happen. What is our relationship to god/reality. "Inspired" by simply means that we are reading many accounts of people trying to explain by story, parable and metaphor how psychology and physics intersect.

Every great religious adept from Moses to Muhammad (and afterward) has attempted to explain this to their culture at that particular moment in time.
