Here is an outline of my understanding of common objections to the Catholic Faith:

Marian Devotions - These would include recitation of the Rosary, Immaculate Conception, Perpetual Virginity of Mary, her role as mediatrix and co-redemptrix, the Assumption.

Sacraments - Infant Baptism, The True Presence of Jesus' Body and Blood in the Eucharist, Confession to a Priest who is but a man, Priestly ordination of men only, and celibacy requirement.

Purgatory - Praying for the dead, indulgences

Communion of Saints - Intercessory prayer, statue worship.

Papacy - Infallibility, Successor of Saint Peter, titles such as Holy Father and Vicar of Christ.

Sacred Traditions - traditions of men, non-Scriptural, discouragement of reading the Bible, private interpretation of Scripture is invalid, adding books to the Bible, changing the Ten Commandments.

These are some of the objections I have heard circulating here on Yahoo Answers and elsewhere. Have I missed anything?

Yes, you missed a biggie: pedophile priests, and the actions of the hierarchy that protected them for decades before the scandal finally broke wide-open about 6 years ago.

1. We honor Mary above all humans because she was the chosen vessel of Jesus Christ. Which is very special. You will notice whenever Benedict 16 talks About Mary he is very careful to speak more about Jesus and how everything Mary is about points to Jesus.

2.The Sacraments were set up by the Apostles. Do you disagree with the leaders that Jesus himself appointed?

3. Purgatory is covered in scripture. "You will be saved but such as by fire"

4. Are you planning to live forever? Well heaven is full of folks who are doing just that who may pray for us-isn't this what you would do if you were in heaven?

5. Peter was appointed by Jesus himself, Do you want to argue with Him?

6. Traditions existed before there was a Bible, in fact it brought you the Bible, and helps to interpret it.

7. Interpretation of scripture needs to be done with knowledge of the basic tenets of the faith and much wisdom. Evidence of this are many cults who have done strange, bizarre and sick things based on scripture. If you need examples I have some.

Other than the need for an angelic Pope who will transform the church, and perhaps allow women priests. I have no objections. Otherwise, the objections you have stated such as statue worship, and infallibility are just red herring issues.
A Catholic knows this not to be true, and READS their Bible.

OI think you have hit on the main ones but you must understand that there are as many variations of the hatred of Christ's Church as there are preachers and those that interpret their message. As a Catholic I think it is better to just follow Christ's teaching than all these various teachings of men. Foremost of which is the ignorant attacks on the Church Christ created that will endure for all times regardless of the attacks, according to Christ.

Novenas, scapulars, pagan rituals, allegorizing Scripture.Using a Bible translated from corrupt texts. And much, much more. There really is little in that religion that has anything to do with Christianity.Your list is is a primer to get started on researching Catholic doctrine. But there are so many unscriptural teachings in it that I'm befuddled anyone would consider it Christianity.

Those appear to be Protestant objections to Catholicism. Many people will object to the really bad stuff - the Inquisition, the Crusades, etc.

Yes, the most important: there is no evidence of god or of the bible being a true account.
