im buyint a car today but the person lost the title. he has the car registered,he has registration all that but no title if he sold me that car would i be able to get a new title for it? and if so how would i do that?

no he has to get the title for it,because its in his name right now,if it had already been registered in your name you could get it,but all he has to do is go to the dmv and get a duplicate of the original one ,that can be done in one day,good luck with it.

DO NOT buy it until AFTER the seller applies for and receives a duplicate title. "He" can file for a lost title, but if you buy this car without a clean title, you will probably be SOL. You cannot get it yourself, just the person listed on the title.. Then any liens must be signed off again.

No only he can get the title so you both have to go to the dmv call first> Dont pay till you have the correct paper work>
