Do U sometimes wake up with new understanding?

1. This morning I did, regarding the Tree of Knowledge of Good & Evil. It was a good tree. Nothing poisonous about it. It was just the one tree God said to not eat of.

So? It was a Holy Tree. Special. The knowledge of good & evil is this. To eat of this tree, you would disobey God. To not eat of it is obeying God. Eating the fruit did't kill them. Disobeying God did. That is what evil is. Disobeying/rebelling Gods Word. To disobey God realizing this is sin & sin is evil.
What killed them 1st, was actually then denied the Tree of Life & so dieing 'spiritually'. Then physical death happened within 1000 yrs.
So? This is like the 1st tithe. We can touch it. Smell it. Just not eat of it. It is Holy to the Lord.

2. Then also, Jesus is the firstling, born as shepherds are in the field. He is the 'Lamb of God' So? The firstling is a tithe. (Like Able) So? He fulfilled the tithe on the cross? Paying Himself for us

ediogenetic, The serpent wasn't telling the truth. A portion of the truth with a twist. That is deception.

Your thinking about the Tree of the Knowledge of good and bad is correct. It was the act of disobedience that killed Adam and Eve, not the actual fruit. God had the right to claim that one tree as his own. Not eating from that tree was the one law that he gave to them, and their obedience would have demonstrated their appreciation for all he had done from them.

Their disobedience did more than just cause their eventual death. It raised a very important issue regarding Universal sovereignty, or who has the right to rule. When Satan tempted Eve, he (1) called God a liar (You positively won't die from eating the fruit) and (2) claimed that man could rule themselves (God knows you will be just like him knowing good and bad) (Genesis 3:1-5) This would take time to prove. Could humans rule themselves successfully without God's help and was God really a liar?

When Adam and Eve joined Satan in this rebellion, God stepped back and has let humans try to rule themselves. This is the reason we see the ruining of the Earth as well as so much suffering in the world today. And when you add Satan into the equation we have even worse conditions. (1John 5:19)

Also, as you said, Adam and Eve died spiritually on that day, and since one day is to God as a thousand years, they also died in that "day" (2 Peter 3:8)

The bible does not tell us what kind of fruit was on that tree or the tree of life. going against God's commands is sin but it is not fruit on a tree. some believe the tree is symbolic while others think it was a literal tree. the bible says it was a literal tree so i believe the bible.

Sometimes it is best just to accept the word for what it says and not try to analyze it.

Adam and Eve were actually supposed to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. They were just supposed to wait until Shabbat had come.

They were to eat from the Tree of Eternal Life FIRST, the second Tree in the Garden. This way, eating from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil wouldn't create a problem.

But, they didn't wait. If they had waited just a few more hours, all would have been well.

The state of evil and good (in world and in the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil) was unified before they ate from it. Evil was merely the lowest "level" of good at that point.

When they ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, they saw evil and good as separate things -- evil then became disunified with the good, and became separate on its own, pure evil then, and pure good. Not unified anymore.

Had they eaten from the Tree of Eternal Life before they ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, as they were supposed to have done, they would not have perceived good and evil as separate things - evil would have still been in its previous state of unification with good.

The tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil has another name that reveals what happens to those who eat of it's fruit. Anciently it was known as the Tree of Death. The fruit has two effects. One is to give people the knowledge to discern Good and Evil. The second effect is mortality and it seperates us from our Father or Spiritual death. So we do receive knowledge, but we also receive Physical death and spiritual death.

Disobedience and taking from the tree not only caused spiritual death. Eating from the tree and sinning caused the curse of earthly death. We were made to be eternal with God, sin cursed us with death. Jesus defeated the curse of death by dying for our sins and rising the third day, defeating death, which Satan gleefully introduced into the world via Eve, then Adam.

Besides all that, God wanted them to first eat of the tree of Life. But there was no hurry.

It's just that once they ate of the forbidden fruit, if afterwards they HAD eaten the tree of Life, then there could be no death, and then Jesus could not have died for their sins. They would have been "locked in" to their sin without hope for deliverance. (IMHO)

If EVIL is disobeying god, and humans had no knowledge of evil prior to eating the fruit, how could their disobedience be any different than a puppy crapping on the carpet?

Would you exile YOUR puppy for making no-nos?

Didn't think so.

You get nuts from a nut tree; apples from an apple tree...
So it follows that the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil is...
the knowledge of good and the knowledge of evil.
This fruit is the basis of moral law.

But, there is NO WAY to know good from evil UNLESS you eat the fruit from the tree!!! Don't you see the paradox? When God told them not to eat it, he set them up to fail.

[ "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." ] Genesis 3:4-5

Eve had no way of knowing that the serpent was "evil" (despite his telling the truth) and not to listen to it until she knew good from evil AFTER eating the fruit.

This can only mean God is either a moron who didn't understand his own paradoxes or he is simply vicious.

You notice how it was the tree of the KNOWLEDGE OF good and evil. Many people forget that part. That means we got smart and decided we know what good and evil is, better than the man upstairs does. We judge what God does as "good or bad."

Everything he does is actually good. We're just dumb humans and can't understand his reasons for stuff.
