Acknowledgement of Jesus as God and Saviour is the first step in the Christian faith, however how genuine can a faith be if a "Christian" continues to act in defiance of what Jesus taught? If I didn't even try to act in a moral manner, would I be nothing more than a contempt-worthy hypocrite?

Even the Devil knows that Jesus is God and the Saviour of mankind, our actions show our true character and motivation, not mere words and deeds done to convince others of our goodness.

Not at all, some people makes mistakes but this is not because of Jesus, or the church, at the end is yourself who makes the choices but even if in Christianity there are good Christians and bad Christians never you can say that are the words of Jesus the ones which turn you wrong, as with other religion.

The Christian God is The Lord Jesus Christ.

No, the Christian God has no interest in you acknowledging Jesus, He wants you to accept that He is Gods son, that He died for your sins and that He is your Saviour. Your personal morality is of no interest to Him, He will sort that side of you out later after acceptance.

According to Conservative Christians, apparently (which is interesting, considering "morality" is so important in politics - "can't let them gays have any rights!"). This is my main problem with this kind of theology. A perfect "saint" (if you will) who never even hears of Jesus will burn in hell, while someone who could be the next Hitler can "be a believer" and go to heaven.

Doesn't sound like a just God to me.

Very much so.

Living a decent life, in peace and harmony with other humans, is not nearly as important as accepting Christ before the end, according to Christianity.

After all, if Hitler, asked for forgiveness just before pulling the trigger, he will enjoy paradise with God and the rest of the Christians, while all the Good Jews who were consumed in his ovens after living good peaceful lives, will continue burning in Hell for eternity, because they wouldn't accept that Jesus was the Messiah.

It is an incredibly cruel and misguided philosophy.

having a relationship with jesus is paramount. as christians we must strive to follow the moral and spiritual instructions as they are for the well being of ourselves and others, but God understands we live in a fallen world so we cannot succeed. As such he looks at the heart and our intentions and committment to Jesus and doing what he wants us to do. This is the simplified version but God prefers relationship to ritual and wants to be a friend and father rather than the ogre than many see him as. A good father has rules for his children too, so it's a combination of different things. you don't love your children any less for screwing up, but you do reward them for trying their best.

From above my answer "you don't love your children any less for screwing up, but you do reward them for trying their best." Which is very true, but a loving parent doesn't condemn their children even if they turn out to be criminals. A loving parent doesn't leave their children in the care of their enemy (satan) and allow that enemy to test them. A loving parent doesn't kill off many of their children (disasters, genocide) and then claim it was for the good and that it strengthened the survivors.

Try this, rewrite several on the bible stories as if God was a human father and the humans were the children, be brutally realistic and objective - is this really a picture of a loving parent? Are there mixed messages?

apparently to many of their beleivers , the answer is yes .

some explained to me that moral is nothing but filthy rags in the eye of god , therefore faith is the thing that saved you.
thus no matter how you are , it doesnt matter.

so i don't understand why Jesus teaches to behave and all the goodie stuff while to their point of view , does nothing at all.

so in short , in their heaven , it consist of people who all believe in Jesus , and they could be evil too =)
while in hell , it can consist of majority of morally good people and but doesnt believe in Jesus

this is their JUST system

and for me , if i have a child , who behave so bad , and ask me to cut his finger off 1 by 1 and burn them , i believe i wouldnt do so even they choose it.
instead i will deny their current choice and repeatedly guide them.

i think he is concerned about both.but you have to have a belief in his son.in order to have his approval.after all the earth and everything on it will be the kings.meaning jesus christ.and christ gave his life for all mankind.and in his new kingdom you will have to have good morals to be able to live there with christ our king.so the acknowledgement and personal morality go hand and hand.
